It is as though you are complaining, butterfly in lullaby.
And you hear me from far away, and my voice does not reach you:
let me fall quiet with your own silence.
Let me also speak to you with your silence
Clear like a lamp, simple like a ring.
You are like the night, quiet and constellated.
Your silence is of a star, so far away and solitary.
I like you when you are quiet because it is as though you are absent.
Distant and painful as if you had died.
A word then, a smile is enough.
And I am happy, happy that it is not true."
"it's, it's, quite something Alexandria."
"I know right!"
"Yeah..."
And pretty much their conversation went like that.
Until they had finally reached Little Rock.
"So, Alexandria, where are you going to?"
"Home, I'm going to mother's house to see my brother for his birthday tomorrow."
"Oh. Cool."
"Wanna come?"
"Nah, pass, I have to take another bus."
"Okay, take care."
"You too."
Eleanor waited for Alexandria to leave, and then her hands reached her head And she massaged it trying to calm herself down. She was freaking out. She had no idea what to do, So she took out the fifth letter.
Two tickets to some place in Oklahoma.
Eleanor scanned through the letter, and she took out the sixth, then the seventh, and she opened all of them, all the way to the eleventh .
That eleventh had the tickets to Albuquerque.
She Was sitting on the floor, as opened envelopes layed on the ground, and folded letters were on her pocket. Two pairs of tickets for the three states that were left to visit, that's six total tickets, Tears streamed down Eleanor.
She was frustrated. She wanted to finally get this hell of a trip over.
....................................................................................
Ubel watched her from a distant. She got off the bus in front of her.
He immediately rushed out; if the bus driver tried to stop him, he'd be a goner. Ubel had his loaded gun inside his unzipped messenger bag, and his hand was grasping it with such force...
Thankfully, the driver said nothing.
Ubel followed Eleanor and the girl all the way to where Eleanor kept walking straight, and the girl turned right.
Ubel smiled as he turned right. He followed the girl until she entered a house. Ubel went through the yard, around the house, to the back. He could see from a little window in the back that had a nice discrete view of the entire hallway- the girl walking through the hallway of the house. He could also tell she was alone. The girl walked in a room. She still hadn't seen Ubel.
Ubel spent No time, and he entered through the window, the people in the house were stupid enough to leave it unlocked.
Ubel left his messenger bag in the yard, and he entered with only his gun.
He walked in the room quietly, and the girl was holding a box with colorful stuff.
Ubel spoke calmly.
"What's in the box?"
The girl turned quickly while still carrying the box in her hands.
She was about to scream, yet she she held her tongue when she saw the gun.
"I asked you a question."
The girl kept silent.
"LISTEN TO ME YOU BITCH, WHEN I ASK YOU A QUESTION, I WANT AN ANSWER."
Ubel raised the gun startling the girl. He laughed, he just loved the uncontrollable paranoia of the near-dead.
"WELL!!!"
She spoke lightly.
"Birthday decorations."
"Whose birthday is it?"
"My brother."
"Really, how old is he turning?"
"Twelve, I'm older by two years."
"Must be cool having a younger siblings of the opposite gender."
"I can note the sarcasm."
"Oh really?"
The girl nodded.
"So tell me girl, who is the girl you got off the bus with?"
"I barely met her, I mean, she isn't that talkative, I just asked her a few questions for my surveys, and we discussed a little."
"What questions?"
"They're in the notebook in the kitchen table."
"Did she tell you where she was going?"
"no."
"Liar."
"I ain't!"
Ubel shot at her knee.
She screamed in pain as she fell backwards
"I told you I don't know."
"Answer me! Did she tell you where She was going."
She shook her head.
Ubel shot her other knee.
The girl went hysterical.
"Did she tell you she was going to her mom's?"
The girl shook her head.
"Their parents died in a fire in her house."
"Did she tell you that?"
The girl nodded between tears.
"So she still doesn't know..."
Ubel shot her in her left foot. right in the center of her instep.
"I have the perfect way to stop her."
Ubel stepped on the bleeding foot, the foot folded to a side in an unusual way.
"And I also got the perfect gift for your brother."
He took a Polaroid of the girl; he shoved the image in his pocket.
He walked his way and he leaned close to the girl.
"Happy birthday brother." whispered the girl, before Ubel started beating her face with the gun.
