On the 31st of October 2017, Birch Clair is handed a small, baby pink journal filled with empty pages. As a part of her "at-home treatment", Birch's therapist tells her to use this journal as a regular diary. Every day, she should write about how her day went, how she feels, and how she's doing. Birch doesn't like this, of course. There's absolutely nothing wrong with her.

Birch has an average teenage life: an insane parent criticizing her every move, high school stress, nervous breakdowns, crappy friends, and nonexistent boyfriends.

And the overbearing weight of crappy, sappy sadness that she can't see. Or explain.

She doesn't like dairies. She doesn't like writing about her day. Or her life. Or how she's doing. Or how she's feeling.

     Well, maybe.

One thing's for sure: Birch can tell you what she is thinking. So that's what she does.
