Chapter Forty

"Help" He heard a croaked voice coming out of Safaa's room.

He ran to the room and saw her trying to get up from the bed while clutching her stomach,his eyes grew wide out of shock when he saw the stain on the bedsheet and within a blink of an eye he was beside her taking her up into his arms in a bridal style.

"Save my baby" She cried trying to stay awake.

"Oh Ya Allah" He sprinted downstairs with her carefully secured in his arms.

He blames himself for her condition.If only he was with her last night.

"Stay strong for me babe" He pleaded glancing at her weak figure on the back seat of his car.

Ahmad watched as the nurses at the ER wheel his darling wife away,he was too confused to call up anyone at home but realising he might go crazy waiting to hear a feedback all by himself made him call up her parents,his own and his bestfriend,He needed someone to tell him she will be alright though he inwardly kept assuring himself that Safaa and their baby will be okay In shaa Allah.

"Yaya Ahmad" Abidah stopped his consistent pacing of the corridor at the ER.

"You're already here?" He raised his head up regarding the little crowd which consists of his step mom,Safaa's mom,Ma'aruf and their granny.

He was so oblivious of the time they arrived.

"We are,Ahmad calm down will you" Mommy answered guiding him to a seat.

"What really happened?" Ma'aruf asked.

"I have no idea Ma'aruf,Ya Rabbi I can't imagine she was in pain and I wasn't there for her"

"It's okay,she will be fine in shaa Allah" Mama assured him smiling a bit.

He felt so ashamed to look at her,how can he begin explaining that he was with Zarah while her own daughter was suffering?

"We won't lose any of them in shaa Allah" Abidah assured him too.

But all of them were afraid.

Hajiya Turai dressed up feeling reverberated,Zarah just informed her that she saw Ahmad rushing out from Safaa's apartment with her in his arms looking so sick.After her phone call with Zarah,Ahmad called to confirm that Safaa is indeed in the hospital.

How can a single news make her so happy early in the morning?

She called up her driver and assigned him to drive her to Ahmad's house instead of the hospital,she needed to see Zarah,they have to celebrate the first breakdown of their enemy for she knows losing the baby will make Safaa totally insane.

She knocked at Zarah's door and she welcomed her with a warm smile and hug.

"Welcome dearest mazha inlaw" She winked.

"Thank you my love,how have you been?" She smiled making herself comfortable on one of the sofas.

"Am so happy" Zarah squealed.

"Finally you decide to be wise,He's my son but since He refused to give you your right am not against you drugging him dan banza" She Hi-fived Zarah.

"And to top it all,that idiot is at the hospital trying to fight for her life and her baby's" Zarah laughed evilly.

"Haba ai tana wasa dani ne,she's never having a child with my son,I took an oath"

"Hajiya ina yin ki" Zarah cheered serving Hajiya Turai some juice.

"I hope you didn't drug this one too,why are you not in the hospital?" She asked sipping the juice.

"A'ah haba,I can never drug you,I love you a lot"

"And don't you love my son?" Hajiya Turai chuckled.

"With all my heart,about the hospital thingy,I'll go check up on her after the evacuation"

"Zarah you're really my daughter,so you're already sure she's lost the baby"

"I prayed a lot for it to happen"

"And it will happen" Hajiya Turai gave her a toothy grin before bringing out her phone to call her son and ask about Safaa's condition.

She just can't wait to hear him say "Mama we lost our baby".
