Michael walked next to Jeremy, biting his lip anxiously. Jeremy noticed and took Michael's hand in his, squeezing it lightly.

"Babe, it'll be okay. All of it will be fine."

Michael looked over at Jeremy and nodded weakly, scared to speak in case he gave away his true fears. It was his last test. He has to go through a simulation of his worst fear, and ensure it for nearly 10 minutes. It would get more and more difficult as time progressed. If he passed, he would be kept in the program. If he didn't, he would be kicked, and have to live on the streets.

They made it to the simulation room, which was pitch black, and empty save for a large television screen on the wall and something that resembled a dentists chair in the middle.

"Michael Mell, welcome to your final test."

The robotic voice filled the room, and Michael shuddered at the monotonous drone that it had.

"You may chose one person to watch your simulation. Who shall it be?"

Michael took a hesitant step into the room, glancing back at Jeremy.

"J-Jeremiah Heere. I chose Jeremiah Heere."

The robotic voice hummed, and two guards escorted Jeremy into the small room with a monitor in it. Another two guards led Michael to the chair, strapping him in and pulling the syringe out. It glowed a sickly green, even in the dark room. Michael clenched his eyes shut and felt the sharp sting of the needle in his skin. He felt his eyes grow heavy and eventually he fell into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, Jeremy fiddled with his hands and he looked at the screen nervously. He knew Michael could do it. He never doubted him once.

/in the simulation/

Michael gasped, looking around. He was at a house, one of the few remaining, he guessed. There were flashing lights, and loud music, making Michael think he was at a party. He looked around, glancing at the sweaty teenagers dancing all over eachother. He recognized a couple.

Brooke.

Chloe.

Jake.

Rich.

He wondered if could find Jeremy anywhere. Or if Jeremy was even there. So far, this didn't seem very scary. He looked around for a while before seeing a familiar mop of brown hair; however, Michael was with a girl. Not just any girl, though. Christine. They were laughing, talking, enjoying the party. Jeremy walked over hesitantly. Michael and Christine turned to look at him at the same time, the smiles dropping off of their faces.

"Gross. What's he doing here?"

Michael shrugged at Christine's question and chuckled slightly, taking Christine's hand in his and walking in Jeremy's direction.

"C'mon Christie, let's get outta here. Move it, loser."

With that, Michael and Christine shoved past Jeremy and left him in the hall, his lip quivering.

In his head, Michael was struggling, wanting to make it stop. He wouldn't say that to Jeremy. Ever. He wouldnt leave him behind like that. But nothing would work. Michael had to watch as he emotionally destroyed his best friend and boyfriend.

Jeremy took a deep breath and walked in the direction Christine and Michael were walking. He caught up with them at the driveway.

"M-Micha... What are you doing?"

Michael turned to look at him with a disgusted face. He placed a hand on his hip and looked at Jeremy like he was scum, making him shrink back slightly.

"Im leaving with Christine. Whats it even matter to you, nerd? God you're so needy! Maybe you should off yourself. It would make life a hell of a lot better."

Jeremy's eyes grew, filling with tears. He heard Christine agree and both of them laugh.

Michael was still struggling, wanting to reach out to Jeremy and comfort him. Tell him jone of it was true. Suddenly, the scene shifted. Michael was now like a ghost of sorts, hovering behind Jeremy. He could see himslef standing with Christine, but that wasn't him.

Without thinking, Jeremy ran back inside the house. He made a beeline to the bathroom. Michael followed, scared of what he would do. Jeremy looked around, sobbing slightly and shaking. He spotted the medicine cabinet and walked over, opening it slowly. There were a couple of pill bottles in there. Jeremy didn't bother to read the labels, mainly because it wouldnt matter later. He opened them up and took a couple out of each, looking at them in his hands.

"Maybe I should. It would make Michael happy. I'm needy. A waste of space."

Without a second thought, Jeremy brought his hand up, swallowing the pills without water or anything. He got up and sat in the bathtub, feeling himself get drowsy. Eventually, his eyes fell and he was in darkness.

Then, the scene shifted. Michael was still in that strange ghostly form, and at school. He saw himself sitting with Christine, smiling happily. He walked over, staying back but still being close enough to hear the conversation.

"Thank God he actually did it. I was starting to think I'd have to deal with him forever."

Michael put a hand over his mouth, eyes wide. He couldn't believe it. He made Jeremy kill himself. He was tge one that caused it. He crumpled to the floor, taking short, quick breaths.

"P-please.... Make it stop..."

/out of simulation/

Jeremy was crying. His hands were balled up and he was crying, shaking slightly. He got up out of the chair and quickly ran to the simulation room. He banged in the door and yelled.

"Let me in! God damnit! Pull him out of the damn simulation and let me in!"

He heard the door lock click and Jeremy burst in, rushing over to Michael. Michael was curled up in the chair, sobbing heavily. Jeremy reached out and touched his shoulder, making Michael turn around. His tear stained face had a look of relief and he tgrew his arms around Jeremy, crying even harder.

"T-thank God... I c-can't lose you, Jer-"

"And you never will, baby. You never will."
