Hey, wake up.

"Avarys," He felt a poke on his cheek. Avarys stirred lightly, before squinting lightly due to the sudden brightness. He saw a worried Clara who was preparing to poke his cheek once again. "Wake up. We're close to my fief. Let's just go down there, I figured its more risky to get dropped off in the royal capital." She whispered lightly.

"Mmmhm," Avarys nodded absently, before leaning back on her shoulder once again. He honestly thought he was a goner then. He honestly thought that he's gonna die back then.

They left their bloody clothes on the sewers, so without his white coat and black vest, Avarys was left with his button down shirt and black pants. Thankfully, the blood didn't seep through his pants and it was barely noticable. Clara gave him the floral fabric of her skirt to hide his head, because as she said they are easily recognizable.

For one his violet eyes can instantly out him as a royal and Clara's insanely blue hair can easily out her as a Skotadi. And away from the royal capital, stranded in an unknown town, they're easy targets.

"Kids are you alright? Do you need more bread? " The farmer manning the wagon asked. He's a kind and greying man they found in the middle of nowhere they call rice fields. From what they could've guessed, because of the excessive greenery, Clara said that they're probably in the Oriel Fief. Neither of them had ever set foot in the Oriel Fief until today.

"No we're fine." Clara replied for both of them. The girl managed to find a farmer who was leaving for No Man's Land with his crops and asked if they could hitch a ride on his wagon. She paid him the sapphire shards and apparently that makes a lot of money. The farmer has been hospitable and accomodating since then.

"Avarys, you barely ate," Clara murmured, running a hand through his matted blonde hair. "Here, have more bread." She urged him, pushing the bread to his face.

He scowled, but still remained on his place, with his head on her shoulder. "It's tasteless." He spat out.

"But you need to eat to survive," She sighed exasperatedly, because he was being difficult. "Hey I think I have chocolate in my pocket, but it's crushed. Would you eat that?"

At the mention of chocolate, he immediately perked up. Clara took out a wrapped chocolate with cursive Margavine at the cover. He figured since Elena is Clara's best friend, Clara has a lifetime supply of chocolates

Clara seems to be dozing off once again. It's already night time and the sun has gone down a long time ago. He peeked out of the wagon, to see the dark skies illuminated by a constellation of stars. The ride back was bumpy, as he was so used to riding on a fancy carriage. He realized just how much he was taking his life.

"Hi prince." The dark shadow sprang up from the midst of vegetables. His face, well he has no face, only an annoying grin. However, he seems to be looking at Clara."oh, is that your princess?"

"Don't get her involved in this," Avarys scowled. "And hadn't I told you to keep yourself hidden?"

"Aye~ Aye~ You're in a sour mood as always," The shadow whined. "Fine~ I'll hide for a while." He reached out a hand, and Avarys reached out a hand as well. At the moment of contact-

The shadow vanished.
