{"Are you going to yell at me, too? I deserve it."}

"I can't wait to finally come home to you, love," Daniel said before ending the call, smiling brightly as he exited the plane together with his teammate, Max.

It would only be a matter of a few more minutes until he would see Y/N again after weeks of being apart.

"But I bet you're going to miss me," Max joked, pulling the Australian out of his thoughts and causing him to chuckle slightly.

While shaking his head with a grin, he gave the younger driver a quick high-five.

"Definitely not," Daniel replied, patting his teammate's shoulder before getting into the taxi that was waiting for him.

Running a hand through his hair, he got the small box out of his pocket to take another look at the golden necklace inside of it.

"I really hope she'll like it," He quietly said to himself, but he felt the taxi driver looking at him through the mirror nevertheless.

"Must be a pretty special lady you got that necklace for."

"Yes, she is. She's perfect."

Daniel couldn't stop the smile on his lips from widening as he finally saw the house he shared with his girlfriend come into view.

After getting his bags out of the taxi and thanking the driver, he just enjoyed the silence around him for a while and chuckled as he remembered the day Y/N had moved into this house with him.

"Wow," Y/N breathed out, her eyes widening as she walked into the huge house and took in her surroundings.

Daniel watched her with a smirk playing on his lips. "You know, you have been here before."

She just rolled her eyes at his statement, while he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer.

"It's different now," She explained, blushing slightly as she noticed that he was staring down at her, "It's not just a place I visit anymore, it's my home."

"Our home."

Without waiting for her reply, the formula 1 driver leaned down and softly placed his lips on top of hers, tightening his grip around her.

A content sigh left his lips as he unlocked the door, slowly entering the house, a comfortable feeling immediately surrounding him.

The bags were carelessly thrown to the ground before he made his way into the living room, where he thought she would he waiting for him.

But instead of being greeted by the sight he had been waiting for, he saw his girlfriend, seemingly arguing with someone that, without a doubt, was her ex-boyfriend.

Before the Australian could even say anything, Y/N was pushed against the wall by her ex-boyfriend who was roughly pressing his lips to hers.

"Get your hands off of my girl!" Daniel exclaimed, rushing towards him and pulling him away from her.

"What's your problem, dude?"

"You are my problem. Who the hell do you think you are? You are going to leave this house right now and if I ever see you near her again, you will regret it."

Without saying anything else, the unwanted visitor basically ran out of the room, not even looking back once.

A satisfied smirk found its way onto Daniel's lips, but it was soon replaced with a frown as he looked at Y/N, whose eyes were filled with tears.

"Are you going to yell at me, too? I deserve it," She whispered, hiding her head in her hands, but he softly wrapped his arms around her, causing her to look up at him.

"Don't say that."

"It's true. I let him in, I thought he just wanted to talk...," Before she could go on, he quickly leaned down and softly kissed her.

"You're just too nice and forgiving for this world," He mumbled, taking her hand in his and pulling her a bit closer.

It was silent between them for a while, until she finally started to smile again.

"I missed you."

After hearing those words, he remembered the present he had gotten for her and quickly placed the small box in her hand.

Raising her eyebrows, she slowly opened it, her eyes lightening up as she saw what was inside.

"It's so beautiful," She whispered, handing the necklace to Daniel, so he could put it around her neck.

Signing, she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I don't deserve you," She stated, but he immediately shook his head, resting his hand on her cheek.

"You're perfect, Y/N and I love you more than anything else."

"I love you, too."

After brushing her hand through his dark hair, she finally leaned in again, connecting their lips in a sweet kiss.
