Remington's POV

We ate dinner with my parents and brothers and really had a wonderful time. It was amazing to me to feel like I barely ever left. When we all finished dinner, my dad said he was going to go out to the fire pit and build a fire. He asked Harry to help, and Sasha went out there as well. It was weird, but I had to help my mother do dishes, so I didn't think twice about it. My mother and I were chit chatting while doing dishes when my phone went off. I dried my hands and went to check it.

To: Remington

From: Sal

Hey I hope you have fun at home tonight! you did an amazing job last night btw.

I rolled my eyes and tossed my phone aside. How does he know I'm at home? I was going to text him back, but decided to ignore him like usual. Eventually he's going to take a hint, right? Whatever, I thought as I went back to doing dishes. I only had about five left when my phone went off again. I rolled my eyes, annoyed and expecting it to be Sal again, but it wasn't. It was Harry.

"What the heck?" I said out loud, getting my mother's attention.

"What?" She asked, as she put a dish away in one of our higher cupboards.

"Harry just texted me to meet him on the dock?" I said and she smiled.

"Better go out there then." She smiled.

"Oh... kay..," I thought, putting the last of the dishes away before grabbing my coat and walking down to the dock. Harry was standing there with a smile on his face as I approached him. "What's going on?" I asked as he pulled me into a kiss.

"Your dad gave me the keys to his boat." He said and my eyes went wide.

"What?" I asked him flatly and he beamed.

"After you love." He said and I got in the boat. It's been forever since I've gone out on the lake. Harry climbed in after me and started up the engine.

"Do you even know where you're going?" I asked, sitting on his lap.

"I have a good idea."

"Alright, where are you going then?" I eyed him.

"The bay?" He said and I beamed.

"I use to swim there as a kid. It's one of my favorite places in the world." I told him.

"Good." He said as he drove the boat across the lake as the sun set.

"Harry, the bay is over there." I told him and his brow furrowed.

"I knew that." He replied, turning the boat in the direction I pointed sharply, making me laugh.

"Right." I said, looking at him until a glimmer on the water caught my eye. I turned my head to see the entire bay covered with little lights on the water. "What the heck." I said, squinting. "What is that?" I asked harry and he just shrugged. As we got closer, I noticed it was a ton of candles on the water. I gasped. I've only seen the water look like this once in my life. I was 10 and it was my parent's 20th anniversary. My mom started crying instantly and my dad gave this huge speech to the 4 of us about what love really meant. "Harry." I said. My eyes were huge. I looked across the water and saw my father's other boat with everyone on it. Harry stopped the boat in the middle of the bay and turned to me. "Harry, what's going on?" I asked, my heart pounding.

"You're dad helped me out with this." He smiled and I realized what was happening.

"Harry!" I said, my hands flying to my mouth.

"Remington Grace Cartwright, a little over 19 months ago you came into my life. You flipped me onto a couch and since that day I haven't been the same. You're the most talented and beautiful girl I've ever met in my entire life. It's been 18 months since the first time you told me you loved me, and every time it still gives me butterflies. I know you say you're not ready for this, and I just want you to know I'm not asking you to rush into anything. I just want you to know this is forever. I want you to know that I can't imagine my life without you. I want you by my side everyday for the rest of forever and then some. I know you love me, so I'm asking you to do this one thing for me, make me the happiest guy in the entire world, and take this ring and tell me you'll marry me. It doesn't have to be tomorrow, just someday. Tell me that someday, you'll marry me." By the time he finished his speech I was in tears, he was on his knees, and the most beautiful engagement ring was being presented to me.

"Why do you keep doing this to me!" I choked out a laugh and a smirk touched his face, but he didn't say anything until he got an answer. "You really asked my dad for permission?" I smiled, more tears flowing as he nodded yes. "Yes, Harry Edward Styles, yes I will marry you." I cried as I held out my hand and he placed a ring on my finger. He kissed it over and over and over, tears falling down his face too. He stood up, wrapping his arms around my waist. I stared at the ring on my finger for a bit before looking up at him. He kissed the tears on my face away as my arms flew around my neck. My lips found his and the boat watching from across the bay started cheering. I tried to ignore him, but I was too happy to continue kissing Harry. Our lips parted and I couldn't help but throw my head back in blissful laughter. The smile on my face probably made my look like an idiot, so I dug my face into Harry's neck, kissing it.

"I love you so much." He whispered and I kissed him some more.

"I love you too." I said, feeling like my heart was going to burst as my dad's other boat pulled up next to ours.

"CONGRATULATIONS!" The boat consisted of Louis, Niall, Liam, Zayn, Sasha, and my father. My father's reaction was probably the best. Tear's were falling from his eyes for the second time today as he beamed, seeming so proud.

"Thank you!" I cried, looking straight at my dad and he nodded my head.

"Let's get back." Harry said into my ear and I looked at him, giving him another kiss. Everyone on the other boat took pictures.

"I've got this all on camera girl!" Sasha said and I smiled.

"You're a lifesaver sash." I joked as Harry and my father started up the boats once again. We rode back to our dock and the boys helped my dad tie

up the boats. I walked into my house, holding Harry's hand. My mom got up from her seat and screamed in excitement once again.

"LET ME SEE IT!" She yelled, taking my hand and gasping at how big the ring was. "My god Harry! Spoil her rotten why don't you!" She says and I laugh, my arms wrapping around his torso. I get up on my tiptoes and kiss him once again.

"I love you." I whisper as my mother pulled us both into a hug. It was about 8:30 at night by now and we had to get back to the hotel soon. I said my teary goodbyes to my family. I gave an especially long one to my father. I promised them I'd be home again soon. I made them promise they'd come visit me in London eventually. We all sleepily climbed into the car and started our hour and a half journey back to the hotel. Everyone beside Harry and myself fell asleep right away.

"When we wake up tomorrow we should call my mother." Harry says.

"Probably." I say, not necessarily nervous to tell Anne. I loved her and I feel like she knows better than anyone that this was going to happen eventually.

"I love you." He tells me and I smile, suddenly wishing we were alone.

"I know." I flash him my engagement ring. "I love you too." He smiles, and I rest my head on his shoulder, allowing myself to fall asleep the rest of the car ride home.
