"We're just going to take some fresh air, Wally," You explained before, seeming amused, adding, "You can surely make dinner for yourself, right?"

Seeming confused, the Kid Flash slowly pronounced, "Yeah, sure, but... What about you?"

"We've already eaten," Bart quickly pointed out, fiddling with the last button on his jacket before looking over to you. "Ready (Y/N)?"

Having finished tying your shoes, you stood up straight and gave him a small smile. "Let's go."

You promptly walked out into the hallway, therefore missed the encouraging smile Wally sent Bart's way. The younger male gave him a brief thumbs-up before following you and closing the door behind him.

As you two started walking, you curiously brought up, "So, how are we going to get there?"

A casual shrug before, "I'll run and carry you."

You raised an amused brow. "Didn't doing so last time put my life in danger or something?"

Slightly bewildered by your words, the teen sputtered out, "B-But you said everything's safer if I'm with you!"

"I know, I know! I was just teasing you!" You laughed as he relaxed, letting out a slight sigh. He really had been on edge for a moment...

Once you two reached the outside world, Bart expectantly turned toward you, holding his arms out. As oblivious as he may be, he noticed the doubt in your movements as you approached.

Wanting to reassure you that you were definitely safe in his arms, he gently picked you up before protectively holding you close against his chest.

At the firmness of his grip, you looked up at him and gave him a grateful smile, which he gladly returned.

Satisfied with your clear well-being, Bart started to speed off toward his destination. He felt you hide slightly against him, probably to try and guard yourself from the chilly night air... You were so small and light in his arms. His affection for you only seemed to multiply at this, which merely pushed him to run even faster. The sooner he got to the place, the better. He'd have more time to put his newfound knowledge to use...

An involuntary gasp fled past your parted lips as you stared, eyes wide in awe, at the breathtaking sight before you.

Bart had brought you two to a type of small clearing, found in what little forestry was left in the region. A ring of tall great trees contained the area, giving it its circular shape, and isolated it from the outside world, giving the place a calm, intimate atmosphere of its own. The grassy land gradually declined, surely the result of endless years of erosion, until finally, in the middle of it all slept a peaceful lake. Its perfect, crystal-clear surface reflected the wonderful night sky that glittered up above. Mighty rocks and mossy, lone branches that gave off a moist, yet pleasant woody smell, were spread out here and there among the multi-coloured flowers that overlooked the quiet plain.

Although the harsh wind couldn't quite sting you here due to the shelter that the prosperous flora provided, you couldn't help but shiver slightly as the cool air playfully nipped at your exposed skin. However, that was short-lived, for a warm, cozy jacket was soon draped over your shoulders.

A soft voice, whispering as he came up to stand next to you. "Do you like it?"

He felt his heart skip a beat as gorgeous (e/c) eyes turned toward him. They were shining like he'd never seen them before. "Y-Yes. Of course I do, Bart, this is just... Wow!"

He chuckled at your uncontained amazement, and briefly allowed his gaze to scan the beautiful place. However, he found your awed self much more of a remarkable sight.
