THE APOCALYPSE

Jimin's POV

I felt a frosty chill sink down my spine, total darkness still covered the land before me. My body was as still as a statue, and my eyelids were heavy and shut down. I propped my body on one arm and peered into the distance. Snow white crystals started to gently glide down the cold, refreshing air. An intricate, fragile snowflake landed on my face, in an instance, its glorious pattern morphed into a pearl of water which rolled down my cheeks and seeped into my mouth. I shuddered from the feeling of the freezing cold ice.

My eyes shifted towards the cool, snowy air. Flocks of trees were coated in blankets of snow, and every falling snow was added to the collection of white ice. I wished that this moment would last forever, a blade of sunlight caught the snow in its arms, melting it through contact. Pieces of snow crunched under my feet as I dragged myself up. Suddenly, my head started throbbing and the world around me started spinning. I was so sure that I would faint...

I cupped my face in my hands as I stumbled around, trying to regain my consciousness. My head wouldn't stop throbbing. It felt as if there was a snake in my brain which was piercing through the tissues in my brain letting all the blood ooze out of my head. I grasped my rough hair and started pulling it out of my scalp. There was only one thing I wanted, for this pain to go away.

"Jimin?" A voice called out from behind me. I looked behind it was a man probably in his mid-twenties, he wore a thick, black coat over his blank white shirt and he had ripped-denim jeans covering his thin legs. His milky white forehead had a large cut in the middle of it, his cheeks were brushed with dirt and his blonde hair was caked with blood and dirt.

"Yoongi Hyung?" I replied.

He walked up to me with his gummy smile painted on his face. Ice crackled under his boots as he ambled towards me.

"Boiiiii! Am I glad to see you" He said as trudged across the snow, nearing towards me.

"Where have you been? I've been looking for you since yesterday, I was so scared!" He cried as he pulled me into a hug. I pulled his face towards my chest and let my chin rest on his shoulders.

" I thought you left me." He mumbled into the Nike logo which was perched on the far-right of my jacket.

"I would never leave you, where would I be without you? You're my best friend hyung, remember that before you think of stupid stuff like that" I exclaimed as I closed my eyes and hugged him harder. "I can't breathe." He croaked as I released him.

"Come on, let's head back to the campsite before 12" He bellowed as he sprinted across the snowy hill. "Did you find any food?" I questioned as I struggled to scramble up the hill. He stopped in his tracks and froze in a matter of seconds. "Well?" I asked through the icy breeze.

He turned around, his face started to stiffen as he peered towards me.

" I'm sorry Jimin!" I've had no luck." He whispered as he scanned the snow-covered ground, trying to escape any eye-contact. My stomach growled in displease. "It's been a whole 2 days since we have eaten, we're gonna die!" I exclaimed.

"Most of the stores have been looted, the only available items I found were just some powdered shit like soup and stuff." He shouted the brown orbs inside his eyes were gleaming with sadness. Most stores which looked to have any food to offer were filled with fucking walkers!" He cried with tears flooding his eyes.

"It's alright we'll survive this together," I said hastily.

"Sure." He replied as he hiked towards a cliff.

I followed behind, staring at the cliff that was in front of me. "We both know we're screwed, there's no way we can make it through this alive." I brushed the thought out of my head as I walked towards my friend.

Tears streamed out of Yoongi's eyes as he stared out into the distance, washing off his happy smile. I gazed down below at the broken dust bowl which used to be a normal Busan suburb in the past. Fire enveloped many cars, others were tipped over by walkers and left to lie there. The houses and buildings were destroyed, and the windows were shattered. The people were now either dead, lifeless bodies or hunger-crazed maniacs searching for meat. The whole scenario came off as unrealistic, how could something like this spread across the globe in a matter of days? The entire country had fallen into anarchy and devastation, the death toll rising every second. I couldn't imagine the horror of the world if it were this bad in Korea how bad must it be in poorer countries across Asia and Africa.

"All because of that one damned company!" I muttered.

How is my story? I just want feedback and ideas in the comments. Fuck... I don't care if it's cringe, it's gonna get even more cringe later.
