"Good morning--oops am I interrupting something?"
Tumikhim ako at umiling. "Nothing Doc..."
"What are you doing here?" kunot na kunot ang noo ni Seth na tanong niya sa pinsan niya.
"That's a nice greeting man...I'm her Doctor. Hindi na kita naabutan kagabi eh."
"He's your doctor?" pag-uulit sakin ni Seth na tila hindi niya nakita o narinig si Doctor Kian Mendez.
"You heard him..."
"I see..."
I don't know kung namalikmata ako at nakita ko ang pagtagis ng bagang niya na tila hindi niya nagustuhan ang nalaman niya.
"Hey Seth, may masama ba kung ako ang doktor ng asawa--I mean your ex-wife?" paglapit niya sa akin sabay hawak sa kamay ko. Tila iniinspekyon ang dextrose na nakakabit sa akin sa hindi ko malamang dahilan. Ngumisi siya at napapikit ako nang mapagtanto ang ginagawa niya.
He's teasing Seth and I don't understand why he's doing that.
"No but I don't think that you need to hold her hand Kian."
Tumawa ang doktor at binitawan ang kamay ko. "Didn't see you being overprotective to someone besides Sera..." pagsipol pa nito. "Hey, you ditch us last week, don't tell me may masama kang iniisip noong nakita mo si Miss Rykki sa bahay ko?"
Natahimik si Seth at hindi nakasagot.
If you really knew me, hindi mo ko pag-iisipan ng masama Seth...
"You didn't tell him?" pagbaling sa akin ni Doctor Mendez.
"Tell me what?"
Please Seth, don't act like this...
"Oh, so hindi niya nakuwento how did she end up in my place that night?"
Wala ni isang nagsalita sa aming dalawa.
"Well, she passed out and I almost hit her with my car."
"What?! She passed out?"
Pumikit ako at iniwas ang tingin kay Seth.
"She passed out and you brought her to your house. You're a doctor, at ang pasyente sa hospital dinadala, Kian." matalim na saad ni Seth.
"Seth!" pagsaway ko sa kanya dahil tila nanghahamon ng away ang tono ng boses niya.
"Chill Seth, sorry I didn't think that way. I'm a doctor, I have my own things to treat her in my house. I assessed her condition before I decided to bring her to my home."
Hindi nakapagsalita si Seth sa sinabi ng huli.
"And if I knew that she's Sera's mother, eh di sana tinawagan kita...you didn't introduce her to me when I went home from states four years ago eh di sana nalaman ko..."
"I'm already his ex-wife at that time Doc..."
Natahimik ang doktor at mayamaya ay awkward itong tumawa. "Y-Yeah, I forgot...He was my closest one in my cousins but he just ...you know never talks about his personal life that much...so imagine my surprise when I got back from states and found out that he has a daughter and an...ex-wife."
I felt relief when his phone rang.
"I need to go...your vitals looks fine. I'll come back later again Miss Rykki."
Tinapik niya si Seth sa balikat at tuluyan nang umalis.
"D-Do you really have to act like that?"
