chapter four | | troubles with jobs

Start from the beginning

He was in my AP English class along with Physics, which I am a bit flabbergasted over. He seemed more like a Biology student.

His reputation was vastly known around Eastville High grounds which inspired me to actually devise a profile regarding him just last night. It was hell rummaging through all sources; I mainly began with social media before dwelling into human references since they tended not to be incredibly accurate.

There was a variety of group pictures that I was not quite a fan of seeing, for the reason that party ones involving baffling scenes and clothing.

NAME & AGE: Kaiden West, seventeen

YEAR: Senior

FACIAL FEATURES: green-blue eyes, dark brown - almost black hair, and an athletic yet lean build

SOCIAL RANKING: first tier

CATEGORY: jock (and possibly scholarship material student - take note of grades)

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:

1. long term friends with the other basketball and football guys

2. plays a lot of sports (excluding the following: golf, volleyball, track and badminton.)

3. often seen at parties hosted either by his buddies or other people in the jock section

4. girlfriends (?) - not sure

5. bullying incidents - unknown, either non-existent or extremely discreet (however, fear factor may be one too)

But what the hell was Kaiden doing in the middle of the library?

This was not his scene in the slightest. Running along a trail would make a better fit, even a puppy shelter.

There was utterly nothing underneath his description, bio, or listed in the photos that everyone often posted about libraries! There wasn't even a book lying in the corner or in the mere presence either.

"Are you new here?" he inquires boldly with an amused look, arching a brow. His feet shuffling around in a noisy manner behind me. There was too much confidence in his voice.

I almost wanted to snorted out loud.

My hand reached out to pick up a heavy Oxford Dictionary, inwardly debating how many minutes I could take before whacking someone in the head with it. But I didn't think Tara would be content with me terrorizing the staff here on my first hour of the job.

I could simply pass it off as self-defense afterwards, but there were too many security cameras here to make it go as smoothly as I would like. I suppose some plans aren't meant to be.

I curtly nod my head, resuming my job at shelving a variety of children books. There were some bizarre names and covers. I was almost appalled at the titles of a few of them.

I wonder if I ever read these books, I mused quietly.

"Oh Kai! You're here, meet our newly hired worker, Cassidy," Tara commented in a candidly brighter sound colour. The pen slowly dropping from her fingers, and there was a bright, energetic smile on her face.

"Connor's sister?" he questioned in an even tone; there was not a fraction of emotion slipping through. Then again, I wasn't even facing them.

I was completely aware that the eyes were the windows of the souls which was exactly why I didn't want to face them.
