"The classroom is on the first floor at the West Wing which is like right there." Skye pointed a perfectly manicured finger at the hallway directly across from us, leading into a series of classrooms. The lights in this side of the school were a bit dull for my liking.

There was a reek of cleaning detergent and sweat that swamped this part of the building. I was now officially fearful of how the Change Rooms must stink of if the Science Wing scent was already this detestable.

"Your locker number, 504, is on the second floor, near where the AP Calculus classroom is."

I nodded stiffly.

"Skye!" Some person calls out in an ear piercing loud voice, before gesturing her to go over. "Hurry up! Chase is waiting for you."

"I am so sorry but I got to go! We can finish this tour later, okay?" she pled in an apologetic tone, her smile faltering slightly and her eyes going huge before she dashed off, leaving me stranded in the middle of the hallway.

There was a bubble of laughter threatening to burst out of me.

It wasn't the ideal reaction for a situation like this, but it seemed pretty accurate if I must admit.

My eyes scanned the mundane area; there was nothing uncanny here or remarkably outstanding here. It was just simply a regular school building.

I suppose it was the students that brought life and spirit to the place, but who could ever be entirely sure?

"Hi, I'm Cassidy Winters," I speak in the softest decibel I can muster without being entirely inaudible, "and I moved from New York."

The first comment I heard from the class of people in front of me was "is Connor your brother?" which I had to coolly respond with a simple nod.

If you say he's hot, I'm going to vomit on my first minute here and it certainly isn't going to be pretty.

"You should sit next to me." A fiery red-headed petite girl winked at me. "We could discuss your brother."

I stood, shell-shocked, trying my best to look shy but a mixture of nausea threatening to knock down my walls of indifference.

"Now now settle down, Miss Hart. I'm sure Miss Winters would like to set beside Amelia instead," Mr. Collin smoothly interjects before gesturing towards a blonde girl sitting in the front beside a visibly empty desk.

I scramble to the empty seat in a satisfactory untidy fashion. A tsk of disapproval from someone in the back row only furthers my contentment.

'Hello' Amelia mouths to me quietly before giving a small wave.

"I'm Amelia as Mr. Collins stated, but you can call me Mia," the latter remarked before quirking a tiny smile. I gave her a small nod in acknowledge before faking a small stutter of o-okay.

Mia seemed to be a demure-type of beauty with long, sunflower blonde hair paired with large expressive walnut brown eyes.

She seemed friendly enough, but when I gazed around the room, I could easily classify her as a wallflower amongst her classmates. The cheerleaders and jocks were all situated together, or at least somewhat nearby one another. There were some normal students sitting in random clusters, but overall, there seemed to be a solid basis here.

No one even dared to give me a second look. My attire must have screamed 'no one important to give a span of attention to.'

That works perfectly fine too. It would be a lot less mentally draining. I sighed in complete relief, but my guard couldn't be let down.
