TC - Chapter 03

Why did I enter politics if I despise corrupt people?

Simple lang. Wala akong ibang gagawing matino sa buhay ko.

I don't really know what happened but I ended up getting taken care off by an old woman. She's not even my grandmother, she said. Basta na lang daw niya akong inalagaan. Obviously, I don't really know what happened to my biological family. Maybe they abandoned me or whatever. What matters mow is that I'm still alive. That old woman, too, gave me her surnames. Parang ate ko daw siya.

Alam ko naman sa sarili kong matalino ako at swerte akong makilala si Adrianna.

Adrianna has this blazing aura and her passion to serve the country was too inspiring.

She was my very first friend then and I knew to myself I'm going to help her with her passion.

Dahil alam ko naman sa sarili ko nga na matalino ako, nag-aral ako nang mabuti. If I want to help Adrianna, I'm going to my best to enter politics, too.

Then nakilala ko pa sila Rozaine, Veronah, and Celestine.

Sa kanila ko utang ang katinuan ko ngayon. If I hadn't met them, perhaps I'm the richest criminal today. Doon ko lang kasi nakikita ang patutunguhan ng talino ko.

But everything won't be possible without Yuan.

I talked to him in a college party once and I knew I'll need someone like him. Playing a very dirty game requires every help you can get.

I can still remember how it all started...

"Just help me and I'll help you too."

Ni wala man lang siyang reaksyon sa sinabi ko. Nakakainis lang dahil nag-effort na nga akong lapitan siya. Hindi ba niya alam na ang daming nagpapakamatay na kausapin ako? How dare him?!

"Why would I need your help?"

Fuck, oo nga 'no.

Dapat pala talaga hindi muna ako uminom ng sobrang dami. Nakakabobo ang alak.

Ngumiti ako at nagkibit-balikat. "I still don't know yet. Hindi naman talaga natin alam kung saan at kailan mo nga ako kakailanganin. But still, I'm sure you'll need me too. The important thing is, I'm sure and I can bet my life that you would be a great help to me."

Asking for help with some stranger is harder than I thought.

Pero hindi naman kami strangers! May isa kaming same class.

Siya 'yung typical loner and nerd-looking guy sa klase namin pero ang gwapo niya talaga.

Lalo na ngayon.

Sino ba naman ang hindi magwagwapuhan sa kanya? Mukha siyang bad boy na iniluwa ng sexy magazine!

"I promise you that this is a win-win deal. I really, really know you'll be a big help to me and I can assure you that I am the same to you. Just sign something with me saying you'll help me."

"Is this because I'm a Stavros?"

Kumunot ang noo ko. "So what if you're a Stavros?"

Parang nagulat siya sa sinabi ko pero hindi ko naman talaga siya gets. I want his help because I know I need him. Siya mismo ang kailan ko at hindi ang middle name niya.
