"Trying to check up on her?" I turned to see Clay leaning against the door frame.

"Yea." I sighed then threw my phone on the bed. "Listen man I'm sorry about what I said, you know I didn't mean it."

Clay walked into the room looking at me with his hands in his pockets. "It's alright man, I'm sorry for pushing you."

He and I gave a hug, padding each others backs. "You know it's not alright man."

"Yea but I know this is alright." I was confused for a second until I realized he was trying to rough house. He and I got on top of each other and were trying to bring one of us down, it was a while until I finally had him down to the ground. "Alright man you win...again."

"That's right I'm the king of this place." I laughed, and he chuckled with his face planted against the floor.

I finally let him loose and he jumped to his feet. "One day I'm going to bring you down." He smiled wry.

I ruffled his hair and looked down at him. "Sure little guy." I chuckled and he looked at me mad before bursting out in laughter.

He and I walked out into the kitchen and I had spotted Ava putting on her shoes. Through for what reason? Where was she going? She turned to look at us but mostly looked at Clay with a smile. "Sorry guys but I'm going to visit one of my girlfriends."

I lifted my head up at the ceiling. "You mean one of your lady friends." I looked back at her.

She looked blunt. "Same thing." She walked over towards the exit to the door, as she left I yelled back.

"Not exactly!" She closed the door behind her, and I was grinning feeling better for getting under her skin.

Clay was looking at me with one eyebrow raised. "Are you trying to get everyone to hate you even my girlfriend?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "I suppose, I don't intend on doing that. Through I enjoy getting under there skin, so I guess it's half and half." I pulled out a apple from the fridge and bit a chunk out of it.

He smiled shaking his head no back and forth, almost feeling ashamed of me. "So... how's it going with you and Tatum?" He walked over to the couch, which I followed.

I swallowed the chewed up fruit. "I guess were getting closer, she still doesn't know a shit load about me though." I took another bite out of the red apple.

He was looking at me as he spoke. "Do you want her to get closer to you?"

I tilted my head back and forth debating on the answer. "I mean yea of course, but I want to keep my distance." I sat back against the cushions of the couch.

He leaned between the arm rest and the cushions of the couch. "Why do you want to keep your distance, don't you think it's best if she knows everything?"

I turned around and spotted the trash can in the kitchen I tossed it between rooms and then I heard the hollow bang of the apple core hitting the bottom of the trash can. "If she knew everything about me she'd turn around in horror and go look for a prince charming who could actually take care of her." I turned to look at him.

He was looking me in the eyes but he kept a serious business face on. Yet at the same time it was a bit open towards a friendly way. "But what if you were her prince charming she's been searching for?" 

I huffed rubbing my eyes with my index finger and thumb. "What kind of fairy tale would that be?" I grinned.

He let out a dry laugh. "A Grim's fairy tale."

I laid my arm on top of the lining of the couch. "More like a fuck'en twisted fairy tale." I chuckled lightly.  

He shrugged his shoulder's. "Hey at least the girl fall's for a beast she can fix and love and not some guy who is all about power and money."

"But I'm not sure she would fix me, and I'm sure she could never love a fucked up beast like me."

Clay rolled his eyes. "Stop looking in the shadows of the relationship, here's a question you need to think long and hard about. Does she make you happy?"

I rubbed my cheek then my chin, I was looking at the ceiling above us. "Yea she does." I lifted my head to look at Clay after I answered.

"Alright man, so what are you trying to text her?" He was smiling, cause he knew that this girl got me messed up.
