"So uh how old are you now Jasmine?" My uncle asked as I looked out at the clouds from the window

"Nineteen."

"Nineteen." he sat up choking on his water

"Yo unc? You good?" I said getting up and patting him on the back

"I'm fine, I'm fine." He said waving me off

"Alright." I laughed sitting back in my seat

"Now back to my question, nineteen? Nigga you nineteen? The last time I saw you in person, you were thirteen. It's been a while six years?" He asked in shock

"Yeah, I guess it has." I said

"I could beat ya mama's ass for letting it be that long since I seen you." He said taking his phone out

"What are you doing?" I asked watching him type his life away

"Texting your mom." He said

"Chill unc chill." I laughed grabbing his phone

"No cause I asked her plenty of times to let me fly y'all out but she always said no or we will come soon." He said

"Well I'm here now." I smiled

"You right, we got six years to make up for." He smiled

"Let's start now then, how does it feel to be the best boxer in the world right now?" I asked moving from my seat to the one in front of him

"Like I'm king of the world," he smiled "I feel invincible."

"Must be nice." I mumbled

"Aye you wanna know something?" He asked

"Yeah, spill the tea unc." I asked leaning forward so I was closer to him

"I started boxing to fight off your mom." He said

"What?" I laughed

"I started boxing to fight off your mom." He repeated as he laughed

"Fight off my mom?" I laughed holding my stomach

"Yeah, she used to abuse me all the time and I had enough. I made my mom sign me for boxing. It didn't help though cause she still beat my ass but I mean look at me now." He laughed

"Yo stop, I can't take it." I said out of breath from laughing

"Ya mom used to punk me like a little bitch, I ain't gonna lie." He said

"Stop you're digging a hole for yourself." I laughed

I have never laughed this hard in my life, like my chest hurt. I know I shouldn't be laughing like this, but if you knew my mom you would know that all of this is true. My mom is always hitting on someone wither she serious or just joking around.

"Well what about you? Why you start boxing?" He asked

"What you mean?" I asked playing with the zipper of my jacket

"You boxing, your mom told me you started about a year ago. Why the sudden interest?" He asked taking a sip of water

"Just cause." I shrugged hoping he would drop it

You see somethings happened to me last two years that had forever changed me as a person.

"Jasmine, baby girl, you can talk to me." He said placing a comforting hand on my knee

"I know, it's just hard." I said blinking the tears away

"Does it involve that boy you was always posting on Instagram and shit?" He asked
