After having a pretty great day with Millie that consisted of spending too much money, eating donuts, and going to see a band play... it was around 6pm so we walked out of the venue we went to go see a show in.

The door everyone was crowding out led into an alley, we were practically pushed out and stumbled to find our balance "you okay?" I asked millie, she looked tired but happy... her hair was messy, new rips had appeared on her jeans somehow, and her shirt was barley still tied. She twirled in the alley way, I think she had had a drink or two. But then she got tired and looked over to me with tried eyes.

"Yeah I'm ok, you wanna go home maybe?" She asked putting her back up against the brick wall and sliding down slightly I joined her looking up at the small amount of sky I could see through the old tall buildings

I got an idea

"No let me take you somewhere first" I smiled at my great idea still looking up at the sky waiting for a response

"Where to?" She started getting up slowly

"I would tell you but I kinda feel like being a cheesy idiot and not telling you" I chuckled

"Alright wolfhard, it better be good" she let out a sigh as I got up

"Let's go" I start walking out of the alley way towards the streets with my cold hands in my pockets, hoping to catch a cab

-

"This is good" I said to the driver she nodded and pulled over, I payed them a good amount

Millie got out as well and looked up

"Oh it's your dad building!" She exclaimed

"Yeah remember when we would beg him to bring us to work on the weekends so we could sit up there on the roof spitting off the side seeing if it would hit anyone" she rambled excitedly, I laughed at the memory

She came over to me

"I miss that" she said as she stood by my side both of us looking up for a quiet peaceful second.

She grabbed my hand and dashed into the door "let's go!"

As we ran past the front desk I waved at the familiar employee, "hi Charlie!" I shouted as we passed by jogging to the elevator "hey guys! O-oh Hey! No silly business" He said reminding us, we arrived in the elevator and Millie pressed the button for the 25 floor, still holding my hand.

"Oh" she said as she looked down at our hands that were so delicately laced together

She ripped her hand away and we awkwardly shuffled away from each other

When we got to the floor we ran up the stairs to the roof, Millie getting there first flung the doors open as I followed I saw her standing there her arms sprawled taking in the sour wind of the city and beautiful sunset similar to the one we saw the night before

She stood there for a minute then sat down close to the edge of the tall building, her energy had suddenly dropped I walked over and sat next to her

"Pretty sunse-" I cut myself off when I saw a tear going down Millie's face

I put my hand on her back and started rubbing up and down

"what's wrong millie"

"Why can't life be this simple Finn? Why can't it be as simple as the colors that swirl in the sky on an evening like this"
She looked at me with a red face, I put both of my hands on her cheeks looking into her eyes
