Marcos POV

Star looked drained. She didn't look like she had gotten any sleep. Her usually cheerful bright sky blue eyes were drowsy and sad. Her smile wasn't a genuine one. The sight of her saddened me terribly. What was making her so miserable? I made it my task to find out. She had plastered on the fakest smile I've ever seen. What had changed between us? When we were trying to defeat Ludo after he had taken over the Mewnian castle, we were... great! But now I just don't know what's wrong. Had coming home, changed things between me and star. Or was it something else? Jackie, perhaps? No... Star liked Jackie didn't she? This is hard to think about but... is it because star has a crush on me. It is hard to come to terms with that, I mean its STAR! My best friend!!

Stars POV

Coming home changed a lot between us. It was sort of like a hit by reality, Marco had a girlfriend, who he was still in love with, and I was a mere nothing more than a friend. At Mewni it seemed as if Marco had accepted my feelings for him, or it might have mostly been my eagerness to see him again that had brushed away my intimate feelings for him. (sigh)

Marcos POV

She looked at me, with that fake smile "only one way to find out!"

Stars POV

I used my dimensional scissors to get to Mewni. I didn't really have an appetite for food, but when I refused the Nachos Marco had handed to me, he had looked at me inquiringly. I quickly stuffed a few of them into my mouth. Wouldn't want him thinking something was wrong, now do we?

We walked through the grand hallways, and neared the grand ball room. Before I stepped in I transformed my normal attire with something more sophisticated as my mom would have liked me to.

Marco lagged behind, staring at the majestic tapestries that were draped on the wall. I cautiously entered the room. Everyone was staring at me. But once I saw who this everyone was. I took a double take. There, in front of me were a million people I did not properly recognize, my parents, and the king queen and prince of the underworld.

"Star you remember Prince Lucifer, now don't you?" my mother asks me, beckoning me forward.

"Tom?"

"Hello starship, long time no see."

He looked angry forlorn and resigned. Though I don't know how one can look all three of those emotions. I looked around. Everyone was still staring at me.

"Star you will soon become queen. And I'm sorry about this but you will need to choose a suitor to become king."

"Mom?! WHAT!! NO!! I can't do that. Not yet!"

"Me and your father have made a proclamation to separate Mewni into two sectors, one for the Mewnian people and the other for the monsters that wish to live there, instead of rampaging our homes or vice versa. Mewnians and monsters can live in peace. Together but apart."

A light applause echoed through the room.

"And you want me to rule it?"

"Yes star. I hope you understand your responsibility."

"Okay but do I really need to get married? Don't you believe in me to take care of myself?"

"Star, we do believe in you. It's just that you will do better with a king at your side. Not to do all the work for you, but help you, and stand by you no matter what."

Everyone is still staring at me

"Let the choosing ceremony begin!!" my mother announced. Applause erupted from all around her.
