Tris pov
It's been 2 months already and nothing. I'm still not pregnant. Tobias is at work and I'm home laying in bed.
I checked my period app today and it told me I was fertile and should be ovulating.
I'm so bored right now I can't stand it. He came home late last night because he had an emergency with a patient who ended up in the hospital.
Then this morning I barely saw him because he wakes up so early for work.
I get up from bed and decide to surprise him at work. Maybe we can go out for lunch if he's not too busy.
Tobias works at a doctors office in which he specializes in the subject of eating disorders but he also can do like general doctors appointments for people who come into the office sick but he's already got his hands busy with most of his patients.
He spends half of the year at the office and the other half at 'Better House' but since Tobias has gotten so many patients lately he's just staying at the office all year round.
I hop into my car that I've had ever since I turned 16, (My parents got it for me for my 16 birthday) then I drive to the office where Tobias works.
I walk in and am greeted by the front counter lady, her name is Suzy.
"Hello Tris how are you" she says
"Good, good and yourself" I ask
"I'm doing just fine" she says
"So has Tobias gotten you pregnant yet. I know you two have been trying for a baby" she ask
"No not yet. But I hope soon" I say
"Have you ever thought about going to a doctor about this. Maybe a doctor could tell you why you aren't getting pregnant" she ask
"Thats a good idea. I'll talk with Tobias and see if we can schedule a doctors appointment" I say
"Yeah sweetie get it checked out" she says
"So is he with a patient or can I walk right back" I ask her
"He just finished with one, he should be in his office charting. His next patient isn't until one and its eleven right now" she says and I smile
"Okay that's good" I say
"It was nice seeing you Suzy" I tell her
"Nice seeing you too" she says
I walk back and am greeted by the other nurses and doctors.
"Tris so nice to see you" one says walking by me
"You too" I say
I walk into Tobias office and see that this dumb slut nurse is in there with him.
She has her hand so close to Tobias and she's standing over him with her boobs all in his face.
"Uh-hm" I say clearing my throat.
"Tris what a pleasant surprise" she says
"You remember Amber right" Tobias says getting up from his seat and walking over to me to put his arm around my waist and kiss my head.
"Yes. Hi Amber how are you" I ask
"I'm very well thanks for asking" she says in an sarcastic way.
"So what brings you here" Tobias says looking down at me ans we smile at each other
"I just missed you. You came home late last night then this morning you left again. I barely got to see you so I thought why not surprise you and if you have time, we go to lunch" I tell him
"I would love to eat lunch. Let me just grab my coat" he says pecking my lips
"Okay" I say and he leaves. Only leaving Amber and I in the room.
"It sucks that Tobias is never home, it's probably cause he's always with me" she says and I look at her
"Working. Or are we" she adds and walks out the room before I can say anything.
Tobias comes back in the room and wraps his arm around my waist.
"Ready to go" he says and I nod
We go to a diner near Tobias job and I'm glad we went here because I love their French fries here.
"Are you cheating on me with Amber" I blurt out really neevously
"What? Why would you even ask that" he says
"Because she was like you've been coming home late because you two are working a lot and 'are you really working'" I say putting the last part in quotations
"Tris baby, I would never cheat on you in a million years. I have no interest in Amber. She's just a co worker and she's trying to freak you out because she has a crush on me. She's told me multiple times but trust me I have no crush on her" he says grabbing my hand.
"Ugh I'm sorry she just knows how to manipulate me. I don't want to sound like a jealous girlfriend" I say
"But I'm not going to lie about one thing we do work a lot together but just as working people" he says
"And that's totally okay with me" I say and we smile at each other, then look at the menu.
"Guess what" I say dropping it
"I'm fertile and ovulating" I first say
"And Suzy told me that if we're having trouble getting pregnant then we should go see a doctor" I then say
"I agree. If it's taking us this long we should see what a doctor has to say" he says
"Why is having a baby so hard" I say
"It's not hard it's just something isn't working for us" he says and I smile squeezing his hand
"Are you coming home early tonight" I ask
"I should be. Sorry about last night but it was an emergency" he says
"Don't be sorry I totally understand what that feels like. I used to be that emergency remember" I say
"Yes I remember" he says
"So when you have a chance can you make the appointment with the doctor" he ask and I nod
"Sure thing" I say
Our food arrives and we spend the rest of the time eating and talking.
