+++ 10 - POINT OF NO RETURN +++

“How would you know? They might just be waiting for the right time.”

“If they really wanted me to be one of them, they would have done that at the beginning. But up until now, they never said anything nor showed me that part of their lives. They don’t want me to become like them. They wanted me to be normal like all the other girls my age. They don’t want me to change. The people you are talking about are the ones who dragged me out of the gutter. They are the ones who pulled me out from the pits of Hell. They are the ones who gave me back my life. They are the ones who showed me what a real family is. And family always comes first. So you either have to kill me to take me wherever you are trying to but I will not be willing. I will not go with you without fighting.” I firmly said already thinking of ways to leave this place. We are in a deserted road and the only exit I can run to are the woods surrounding the area. I resorted to signaling Giovanni to get nearer.

Lucas tugged his hair in frustration while trying to explain. “Why can’t you see that I am only trying to save you from them?”

“No you are not. You are pushing me to my death.” I retorted. He looked at me with confusion. “Betraying my trust and destroying my family is like death all over again. I had experienced it once when my parents turned into abusive monsters. I felt it when they died and left me. I died when I thought I had no one to lean on. And now I am dying again because you are taking the only thing keeping me alive.”

“And what about me? Am I not worthy to keep you alive? I am here to save you because I love you!”

“You should have said that before this even began.” Tears fell on my eyes upon hearing him say those words. For some, it showed love and compassion but to me, I felt the world crumble down and dragged me off my feet. He don’t know how much pain it caused me to hear him say it in this situation. If only he told me from the start then I wouldn’t resort to what I am about to do.

“I am only trying to help.” Lucas tried to explain.

I saw in him the pain I also felt but I cannot forgive him for what he did to me. “I don’t need your help Lucas, we are over.”

His eyes widened as soon as words come out of my mouth but when he recovered, he spoke in a strong voice. “I will accept that you are breaking up with me but I will make sure you are taken to where you are safe even by force.”

I gasped at his words. “You will take me away against my will?” My ire rose engulfing me with hatred towards him.

“Yes.”

I stared him down with a dark look before changing my expression into an icy and malevolent mien. He looked stunned at my sudden change before collecting himself and standing taller imposing his commanding aura. If only he knows I am fully familiar with those kind of attitude. What with all the intimidating and brooding guards around us, especially my brother and Giovanni. I gave him my infamous smirk that only the people in my family knows the meaning and are wary of. He frowned before trying to grab me. With lightning speed, I pulled my handgun from by shoulder holster which was hidden by the leather jacket and pointed right at his forehead. Lucas stopped and stepped back a few times as he stared at me with wide eyes. I can see that he was already thinking how to subdue me but we both know I have the upper hand. He cannot do anything now.

“Do you really think I will let you take me away?” I mocked, my gun trained at him steadily. The safety was off so we both knows that if I pull the trigger, he will get hit.

“Vittoria, you don’t know what you are doing. Hand me that gun and let me help you.” He raised his hand trying to calm me down but I only held the gun tighter.
