+++ 10 - POINT OF NO RETURN +++

“What plan?” My voice getting louder as I tried to reign in my anger.

“I haven’t been honest with you but now is not the time to explain. I’ll tell you everything once we get there.” He tried pacifying me but I am already on the verge of explosion.

“Stop the car.” I said in a cold tone. My face expressionless even though my hands are shaking with rage.

He glanced at me trying to explain, “Vittoria, we are in the middle of the road-“

“I SAID STOP THE CAR!”

“Alright.”

As soon as he parked the car, I opened the door and stepped out then closed it with a loud thud. He followed me out most probably to talk me into getting back in the car which only made me furious. I hate when people don’t answer when I asked them a question. Lucas didn’t even tried to explain the situation. That was the last straw. I would have understood it if he only enlightened me of what is really happening. I knew the ins and outs of underworld and this is not something I am unaccustomed with.

I know that Nicolo and Morrigan are family but if only Lucas told me the truth, then I could have handled the situation more appropriately. He don’t know what my brother had planned and if he only said anything, I would have let him in on their scheme. But no, he didn’t. He worked on his own. He didn’t think of my feelings. He didn’t prioritized me when he thought of his move. He only focused on what his mission entailed.

What I am mad about is that he used me to infiltrate my family. To destroy the people who helped me. To send down the very person who gave me family. He doesn’t have the right to come to me, make me fall for him, fake everything between us and then take my life away. He knew I hated liars. I detested dishonesty. I abhorred cheating. And I do not forgive nor forget easily.

By using me to take down my family, he became the number one on my hit list. He doesn’t know that by what he did, he only made things worst. For me, family always comes first and I will do everything for them. Even if I go against the world and my love.

Lucas moved towards me but I stepped back. “I’m sorry, Vittoria. I know I should’ve told you but we don’t have much time. We need to go. You must be far from here before they find out and search for you.” He begged while still trying to come near me.

“Who?”

“The Kostas mafia and your brother. They are bad for you. They are wicked and evil. You shouldn’t be anywhere near them. They will only corrupt you.”

“You are talking about my family. Do not disrespect them in front of me.” I screamed pointing my finger at him. I would’ve punched him in the face if not for my worry that he can overpower me if I get near him. I may be skilled in the art of defense but with his built, he can manhandle me with little effort. Besides, he knows how to deflect all defense moves as he had told me when I asked about his skill in martial arts.

Lucas looked me in the eye begging for me to understand his actions. “Do you even know what they are? They are the mafia controlling this city. Do you know what they do? They kill people. They sell drugs. They are involved in gambling and racketeering. They destroy lives. They are criminals.” He tried exposing who they really are but what he doesn’t know is that I am well aware of it even beforehand. Besides, his father is also one. He was insulting both mob lords by his words. How disappointing!

“Look who’s talking! Don’t be a hypocrite. We both know your father is also one of their kind. The very people you insulted.” I shook my head in disgust. “The evil one that I see right now is you. I may not know what they do for a living but they never treated me like shit. They didn’t even want me to be a part of the mob.”
