"Daniel honey, wake up! you don't want to be late for the first day of school!"

Dan grimaced upon hearing the words "wake up" and "school", but eventually he willed himself to sit up from bed. He looked around his room thinking to himself that this year was going to be different.

It has to be different. It just has to.

Dan headed downstairs and was greeted by his over enthusiastic mother. He loved his mom but he could only handle her enthusiasm for a couple minutes at a time.

"Hey honey, i made you your favorite breakfasts, scrambled eggs with bacon and coffee" his mom said. "Um thanks mom, you really didn't have to" he said. "Nonsense, its my baby's first day of his senior year. I wanted this morning to be special" his mom responded. "Well thanks, i guess", and with that he started eating his bacon. After a few minutes of comfortable silence Dan asked, "Hey mom, where's Dad?". "Oh he went off to work early. He said he wished to be here in the morning, but you know how much they need him at work. Busy, busy, busy that man is" his mom explained. "Mmm alright, does that mean I'll be taking the bus to school?" "Yes! So hurry up and go change before you miss the bus. Im pretty sure you dont want to be late on your first day back", his mom stated. His mum ushered him out of the kitchen once he was done with most of his food, knowing he wasn't going to finish all of it.

Having brushed his teeth and straightened hair, he padded toward his closet to check out what he was going to wear. He grabbed a pair of black skinny jeans and paired them up with a nice dark hoodie, knowing it was going to be chilly outside. He shoved on his shoes on and walked toward the front door to leave his house and make his way to the bus stop, but his mother stopped him before he reached the front door and said, "Dan, i know last year was hard on you. It was hard on all of us, but please do well in school. Please. I love you". Dan was taken back and filled with emotions he didn't want to feel at 7 in the morning. He said, "ill try... I love you too mom".  He kissed her cheek and said goodbye.

He made his way toward the bus stop thinking over that night even though most of it was still a hazy blur. Some thoughts were still coming back to him in bits and pieces but most weren't.

WE  NEED TO GET THEM TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!

My babies! My beautiful babies!! Please dont leave me

WHAT ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE FOR? GO CALL THE AMBULANCE! NOW!

NOOOOO NOOOO NOOOOO NOOO PLEASE NOT THEM! TAKE ME INSTEAD! GOD PLEASE DON'T TAKE THEM AWAY FROM ME!!

His thoughts were inturrepted when he got to the bus stop. He felt cold but it wasn't because of the weather.
He waited for another 5 minutes along with other moody teenagers before the bus came. He was greeted by the driver and went for a seat in the middle of the bus, like that he wouldn't be associated with the nerds of the school but he wouldn't get caught in the middle of the loudness that was the always situated at the back of the bus. His ride was uneventful, with the bus only getting fuller and fuller by the minute. However, the last stop before arriving school was intresting to say the least.

In the last stop only one person walked in and he wasn't anyone dan recognized. He had stunning black hair that was a contrast to his pale skin. He had his head cast to the floor so he couldnt see his face but he could tell he was very tall. Almost as tall as dan himself, which was impressive since there wasn't many kids at school that could compete with his height, standing at 6'2. He noticed that he was wearing a muse hoodie paired with black skinny jeans like himself, so maybe the guy couldn't be so bad.

That thought was soon erased from his mind. As the guy started walking down the aisle looking for a seat, the bus made a sudden jerk that sent the new guy toppling down onto Dan's lap. Blushing and embarrassed that someone was sitting on his lap Dan pushed him off and yelled, "Hey watch it kid!" The guy only then proceeded onto falling on the floor of the bus, which made a lot of the others kids laugh at him. Dan immediately felt awful and tried to help him by offering his hand, but the guy refused and said, " Don't touch me. I've had enough help from you, thanks". With that he got up and a girl, across the seat Dan was sitting, offered him a seat next to her, which he graciously took.

Dan felt bad that he pushed him off onto the floor and tried sneaking apologetic glances at the black haired boy, but it was as if he was purposely ignoring him by engaging in a rather passionate conversation about gratefruits with the girl.

By the time they arrived at school it was too late to do anything about it, so he tried to ignore the guilty feeling he had developed throughout the bus ride.

"Uuughh school" Dan sighed and with that he set off to another miserable year.

Sooo i hope you guys liked that first chapter. I know its not the best but im looking to improve my writing skills so that they can at least be mediocre at best. Yep thats it.
