"Is he in a better place?"

She said and a tear came down my cheek but I whipped it away,

"Yes Laura, he's in a better place"

I said with a weak smile and she looked down then back at me

"At least he's being taken good care of right?"

She said and I nodded

"He's the one that picked your name out, and you have his eyes and nose"

I said and she smiled

"Daddy had pretty eyes then"

She said and I chuckled

"Yeah he did, very beautiful like yours"

I said and she giggled

"I wish someday I get to see how daddy looked like, too see that it's actually him"

She said and whispered the last part and with that she just walked away and went to her room I was confused and I felt tears running down my cheeks and my door opened and I saw Jack there and I whipped them away quick

"Hey-your alright? What's wrong?"

He said and I shook my head

"Laura came in asking me when she can see Johnson, and I didn't respond until she said that if he's in a better place"

I said making more tears come out

"And she just told me right now in her words, 'I wish someday I get to see how daddy looked like, too see that it's actually him' and I got confused in the last part"

I said and he sat there thinking about it and he shrugged his shoulders

"I don't know, I wish I knew why she said that"

He said and I nodded

"Alright then, thanks, good night"

I said and he said that same and left. I turned off my light I was about to close it until I see Laura's door open a little and her lamp was still on. I walk out of my room and I put my ear on the door and I heard her talking

"Please god let me get to see my daddy since my birthday is tomorrow. I want it to be the best, and I want to talk to my daddy too, goodnight, and daddy if you hear me I love you and my birthday is tomorrow"

She said and I smiled and I peek through the door and I see her get up and she turned her lamp off and she turned around looking somewhere I couldn't see and she smiled and she waved and went to her bed and fell asleep. I just walk in and I turn to where she was looking at and it was nothing just her boxes of toys. I walk out and went in my room and fell asleep.

~ Next day ~

"Mommy where are you going?"

Laura said and I go down to her height

"I'll be back alright, stay here with Matthew and Isla, I'm going to the store with Jack, Carter, and Sammy"
