Prologue

Runts Mothers POV

I've been in labor for 8 hours, this baby did not want to come out. Smiling at my husband Grant he gave my hand a reassuring squeeze.

I was terribly excited to see our child, we had been trying for months before the news came that we were finally pregnant. With my blonde hair and his black, my size of 5'4 and his of 6'3 I was very curious as to what traits our baby would take from each of us.

I finally felt like I could really push, knowing this would be over soon, I would see my baby soon. So I gave it all I could. We would be the perfect family us three against the worl-

She was born

She was beautiful

but...

She was a runt

"Grant she's a runt, our baby's a runt! We're going to die Grant." I cried into his chest knowing the second that Alpha Koji heard we'd had a runt we would all be killed.

Having a runt as a pup was seen as very wrong and you were almost guaranteed to be killed because of it.

Grants black hair began to stick to his forehead as sweat became a very present factor in the current situation. His strong hands shook slightly mimicking my own actions.

"Hey, look at me." Grant pulled me close to his chest and whispered over and over that he loved me and was sorry our stories would have to end so early.

Almost as if on cue our Alpha Koji and his men charged the door, wanting to see their next pack member. This is a law. The Alpha needed to be notified when a wolf went into labor.

Mostly so they can accept the new pack member as soon as possible but also for situations like this. A gorgeous sweet baby girl who in their eyes was useless and we as parents needed to be punished for "creating a monster". Alpha Koji was a very scary and intimidating man and was know to be cruel and heartless after the death of his own mate during the birth of his son.

Looking down at our innocent angel then back into my eyes he nodded his head slowly. Three of his men advanced, one taking me, one taking my husband, and one taking my baby. We were lead to the living room right near the front door.

"Rules are rules you worthless piles of shit." Where the last words I heard coming from Alpha Kojis mouth before a knife was put to my throat.

I watched as they left my husband and I to bleed out on the floor and took my daughter with them, leaving the door to my once perfect home slightly ajar.

Reaching over to my husband we held hands as a single tear trailed down my face as I slowly slipped out of this cruel world.

Very short because it is a prologue they will get longer I promise! Covers are welcome and if i have any mistakes  please point them out!
