The year was 2068 when the outbreak started. Scientist in the lab were trying to find a simple disease to kill half the population due to the over populated earth. But the lab had a breach and sample three was released out into the outside world. At first it was working, but it's like it upgraded into something worse. The infected were changing into monstrous creatures much like what we call zombies. The people out in the unprotected lands fought against them and the only way to kill them for good was to shoot them in the head and burn the bodies. Most of the Fighters in the dead zone fought vigorously to find the people who'd take in the uninfected people to the protected island called the "Safe Haven".
