Chapter 2 - part Five End

Start from the beginning

Eyes now opening, Dimitri's vision returned just in time to see Sue running past him with a smug smile and realized that around him where Arnett's arms which had him in a tight embrace.

It would be a lie to say that Dimitri had expected Arnett to catch him, in fact he was almost certain he was going to be left on the floor as the two chased each other. Yet even though it had obviously been difficult for her to do, Arnett had caught him and by extension let Sue go.

"Tch. Annoying girl...Dimitri, are you unharmed?"

Finding his sense of direction again and looking up to see Arnett's face, Dimitri realized that his face was directly on her breasts and while this wasn't necessarily a bad thing in his eyes, he knew it would be wise to move as soon as possible.

With this in mind, he slowly rose out of Arnett's arms which fell off as easily as flower petals and stood up straight. Brushing off his clothes for no reason other than to try and appear as natural as possible as he took a deep breath.

In the orange light of the flickering torch, the visage of Arnett looked very dramatic, much more so then what Dimitri thought was required by the situation. It's light tones brushing over Arnett and emphasizing the seriousness of her current gaze.

"Yeah, I'm good...thanks for uh...catching me."

After getting off of Arnett and tossing aside the memory of the soft sensation that was her breasts, Dimitri proceeded to help her up as it seemed that catching him had brought her to her knees. Which was understandable considering he was a one-hundred and eighty-pound man who had probably hit her with the force of maybe three-hundred.

However, despite all the hardship she had just endured preventing his pain, Arnett accepted his help and got up with a warm smile. which Dimitri thought seemed warmer than usual and proceeded to blame the orange hue of the fire behind him for its chromatic effects.

"I am glad. I must apologize though. I never expected Sue to be so rash as to appear inside my own house..."

Arnett placed her hands on her hips as her expression hardened while she stared out the open doorway and suddenly she turned to him with an angry series of emotions flashing across her eyes.

"I told you to be careful! I warned you about the blackguard! Trouble follows those who they appeared in front of. It is partially my fault though. I should have been more diligent...I have failed as a host."

"No, it's not your fault at all, I am responsible for my own person after all. Like...I thought I heard something earlier but I didn't mention it and disregarded it because I was tired and didn't want to deal with it."

As Dimitri began spewing out reasons as to why the whole fiasco was his fault while rubbing the back of his head in an apologetic manner, Arnett smiled and gave him a slight chuckle. This small action stopped Dimitri mid-sentence and created a short pause in the conversation.

"I suppose you are correct. I will be a gracious host though and take half of the blame anyways for you."

"Well "gracious host" that is very much apprecait-"

"But in doing so, I will be keeping a closer eye on this house. It is very unlikely she will only try this once, as such I will have to be more vigilant for the sake of your safety."

Cutting Dimitri off, Arnett placed her hands behind her back as she began scanning his room as if trying to find out how she managed to sneak in without her noticing. Dimitri, seeing this, placed his hand on her shoulder and gave her a confident smile.
