It was the same girl from before, the very same one who had captured him and most likely dragged him into the cell. Her indifferent and flat stare reminding him to be careful of his words.
"Ah- how long have you been standing there? Did you just get here? I'm sorry..."
"Don't be getting any ideas, the only reason you are alive right now is because of your very interesting display and creeping insanity. Even now talking to an inanimate object...truly there is something wrong with you. If it weren't for that you would be dead right now. So, take it to heart when I say, do not get any ideas"
Pressing the point, the girl in front of him put a strong emphasis on the words that implied he should be dead. This was a level of intimidation that Dimitri, who had never encountered such a frightening foe before, had very little resistance against. It was so unfamiliar that all he could do was nod his head, not wanting to tempt her to prove her words.
"The reason I am here right now is to take you to the elders den, and the reason I am here specifically to take you there is because you have been labeled a possibly dangerous individual. All of this will go smoothly after all with me here, seeing that you can't defeat me in combat. I will be releasing your bindings and you will follow me, is that clear?"
"I know you're trying to build this up and everything, but if you could elaborate a bit on what you want me to be doing, it would give a great mental picture so I could better perform my task." Said Dimitri.
In response to his statement, there was silence.
It looked like she had no intention of answering questions so he dropped the topic, patiently waiting to be freed from his bindings which had begun to chafe him. Stealing a glance at his keychain he noticed it had returned to normal, making him question if he had ever actually been talking to someone or just simply coping with his own loneliness.
The girl inspected him cautiously before beginning to undo his bonds, shaking her head as she carefully released the crude rope from around his wrists. Relief flowing through his wrists as his bindings were released. Afterwards she motioned to him to get up and follow her.
"Let me be clear that I will not be asking anything, I will be commanding. Any sort of suspicious behavior and I will make sure to give you the proper punishment. You will listen, and if you don't, it will lead to the same result as if you are being suspicious. Understood?" Arnett commanded in a cold voice, dropping the tone making it more menacing. In response Dimitri nodded his head slowly, careful not to make any quick motions that could be misinterpreted.
A few moments later and they were on their way out. The cave was large enough to maybe fit two people, being very rough in appearance sporting craggy walls with a wet damp floor.
I wonder if I really did imagine Joan, Dimitri thought. I hope she isn't taking me to some town square for public execution, that would really be the icing on the cake...ugh.
"I think you are doubting yourself a lot, but I shall confirm to you that I really was talking to you."
Dimitri jumped at the sudden voice in his head almost running into one of the rough sides of the cave, earning a cautious look from Arnett as she turned around.
"You didn't hit your head when you fell did you? Or is it simply fear causing you to be so jumpy" Arnett asked in a mocking tone.
"No, nothing I just got caught off guard by...um a rat that ran past me. That's all. Sorry for the startle."
