But something
Happened
The other day
You started
Speaking of
Small things
They were
Beautiful, you see
And simple
You told me
Of your
Plants
You don't
Think much
Of them
But
By God
You have them
You have
The spark
Of curiosity
I ran outside
To find
A cat
I found
A rainbow
Instead
You were
Home alone
At night
You said that
You heard
The fireworks
So you ran
Outside
Like I did
To see them
You searched
Because of the spark
It made
My heart sing
When you said so
You say you
Look for
Metal
In your yard
When you're
Bored
With a metal
Detector
Who does that?
It's simply
Frickin cool
And nerdy
You might not
Understand why
But it sang loud
And then
A miracle
Happened
You spoke of
Fireflies
To me
I caught them
With my
Sister
But you
Caught them
Alone
Simply
Because
You wanted to
And once
You had them
In your jar
You kept them
In your room
Like a child
You said you
Let them free
In the morning
I love those
Stories
They're real
They mean
So much
To me
And so
They give me
Hope
That maybe
Just maybe
You do know magic
You do want
To see
To discover
That maybe
You do
Understand
I pray
I beg
That's the case
Because it's
So important
To live while you're alive
So I am
Staying
Right here
Because
Somewhere in there
There must be more
I want to
Ask you to
Keep surprising me
Please
And
Thank you
