This was requested forever ago but I don't remember who asked for it sry

Reader is Ravenclaw in this one. I hope you like it!

"Hey, Ravenclaw!"

As you walked out of your Transfiguration class, you heard a voice behind you. You turned around to see James Potter running to catch up with you.

That's right. James Sirius Potter, aka the guy that you've wanted to talk to since second year. And you would have, if it hadn't been for the fact that his father was Harry Potter, one of the most famous wizards of all time. You didn't want James to think you were just another fan.

"Uhh, hey! What's up?" You stopped walking to allow him to catch up to you.

By the time he was next to you, he was slightly out of breath.

"You're good at transfiguration, right?"

"Uhh, yeah-" you tucked a strand of hair behind your ear- "I guess. Why?"

James seemed to shy a little before replying. "Well, I've been having some trouble with it recently," he admitted, "and McGonagall seems to think you're one of her best students, so I was thinking maybe you could help me out? If you're not too busy, that is."

You felt a bit of blood rush to your face, but did your best to keep your composure, although you're not sure how much that worked. "Yeah, sure! When do you want to meet up?"

"I'm free tonight, as long as that works for you."

"Yeah, that sounds good! I'll meet you in the library after dinner?"

"Sounds great." James grinned. "Well, see you tonight then, Ravenclaw."

"It's Y/N," you told him.

"Alright, then. See you tonight, Y/N."

And with that, he ran off down the corridor, leaving you to fully register what happened.

~~~
"You have a date with James Sirius Potter?!" Your roommate practically screamed with excitement when you had told her what had happened.
"Keep your voice down!" You quickly shushed her. "And it's not a date. We're just studying."
"Study dates still qualify as dates, Y/N," she said matter-of-factly.
You only rolled your eyes playfully.
"So what time are you two meeting up?"
"After dinner in the library," you told her.
Your roommate squealed. "Then let's go! You don't want to be late for your date~" She practically dragged you out of your room before you could respond.
~~~

After dinner, you nervously made your way to the library to meet up with James. He wasn't there yet, so you sat at a table to wait for him.

You must've gotten lost in your thoughts, because before you knew it, you were snapped back into reality at the sound of his voice.

"Hope I haven't kept you waiting too long."

You looked up to see James, a little out of breath (presumably from rushing to meet you here), setting his stuff down and taking a seat next to you.

"Not at all." You smiled and began unpacking your school stuff so you could get to work.

Not too long passed, and soon you looked up from your work to see James' brother, Albus, walking in towards the two of you. James excused himself to see what his brother wanted.

~~~
If you had told yourself at the beginning of the day that you would end up locked in a broom cupboard with James Sirius Potter, you wouldn't have believed yourself.
Yet here you were.
It was dark, cramped, and frankly pretty awkward. Long story short, you both had gotten stuck when Albus said he needed help getting something from the cupboard and made James come with him. You had followed them, partly out of curiosity and partly because you didn't want to be alone waiting for James to come back.
Before you had known what was happening, Albus had shoved the two of you into the cupboard and swiftly locked the door. You had no idea why he would do that, but you were afraid that he somehow knew about your crush on James.
Neither of you had said anything yet, so you sat in semi-awkward silence until James finally spoke up.
"I'm sorry about my brother," he said.
You looked at him. "Yeah, it's not your fault." You managed a small laugh.
He blushed. "Actually, about that--" he ran a hand through his hair-- "I might have a theory for why he did."
You looked at him, raising an eyebrow. "And what would that be?"
"Well--" even in the dim lighting, you could see his face grow a shade darker-- "it's probably because he knows..."
"Knows what?"
"That I like you."
You didn't know what to say to that. All you could manage was a small "oh."
"Sorry," he said. "That was probably awkward."
"No," you reassured him. "Sorry, I'm just awkward. But... I like you too."
"I underst-- wait, what? Really?" The look on James's face reminded you of a puppy. "You do?"
You nodded.
He laughed, moving towards you for a hug, then stopped himself, as if he wasn't sure what was appropriate in this situation. "Uhh, sorry."
You giggled. "It's okay."
You stepped towards him and the two of you hugged, both of you finally knowing that your crush felt the same way, and it was the best feeling in the world.
Even though you were still stuck in a broom cupboard.
I'm not dead!!
And neither is this book, in case you were wondering. I've just been SUPER focused on school (well, I should have been focused on school, but in reality I've just been spending pretty much all my time reading fanfiction). But yeah, junior year has been pretty stressful so far and it's honestly kind of hard to keep up with anything at all while being a full-time student, but believe it or not I actually do try to work on my stories if I ever see the chance- it just takes a long time before I have a chapter actually ready to publish. I don't know how many people are still reading at this point, but I really quickly want to say thank you to whoever is still reading this book and if you've made a request in the past, it's in the works! Hopefully it won't be too painfully long until the next oneshot comes out, but I can't make any promises. Anyway, I'm doing my best to keep updating all my stories so if you're reading any of my other books, I should have chapters out for those soon as well.
As usual, if you have a request, please comment or message me with what character you want, what house you want to be in, and anything else (what year at Hogwarts it takes place, basic plot, etc.) and I'll be sure to work on something for you.
