When Life gives you Lemons

"Hey Chrissy."

"Now I sound like a girl."

"I thought you were one, with that hair of yours, so long and luscious."

"And I thought you were a boy with yours."

"My hair is shoulder length."

"Oh well."

"What does a papaya taste like?"

"Well it tastes like nothing to me, but my mom says it's sweet."

"So I have a 50/50 chance of getting a mulch lemonade or sweet one?"

"Nah, it's gonna be sweet either way, have you seen how much sugar we dump into it?"

"...I don't want to know."

"You really don't."

"So Chrissy-"

"What happened to Christoph?"

"Who's Christoph?"

"I give up, I really do."

"Great! Then I hope you don't mind me calling you 'lemonade mouth.'"

"After the disney movie? Really?"

"Wait you actually watched that movie?"

"Hasn't everyone?"

"Apparently not my entire school."

"Wow, your school must suck."

"As far as schools go, they all suck. So... Papayas?"

"Yeah, papayas."

"No I mean can I get some."

"That's what I said."

"Mhmm."

"..."

"Now it's awkward."

"Says a lot about you, huh?"

"Hey!"

Christoph hears the click, and forces himself off the fold-up chair he so dearly loves and gets to making lemonade. The phone rings again.

"Miss me?"

"As if."

"Aww, but can you bring two papaya instead of one?"

"Oh, I was already doing that."

"You know me so well Chrissy!"

"-So that I can charge you extra."

"You suck."

"Suure."

"You really do."

"You keep telling yourself that, but I'm fabulous."

"Liar liar pants on fire."

"I'm rubber and you're glue, what you say bounces off of me and sticks to you."

"Okay now that was low."

"I honestly don't have any morals anymore."

When Christoph gets to her house, she's already outside, waiting. 'Well that's not creepy at all...'

"Hey Chrissy!"

"Hey Mystery girl."

"Allie."

"Huh?"

"My name."

"Ah, so you've finally decided to grace me with it."

"Oh shush, now, papaya?"

"'Ere ya go."

Christoph gives her the papaya lemonades, and she gives him one back, and Christoph looks suspiciously at the styrofoam cup.

"You're still paying for this, right."

"Yeah yeah, you miser."

Satisfied, Christoph takes a sip and laughs along at Allie's puns as she makes a fool of herself.

Life is good.
