Chapter Fifty-Seven

Start from the beginning

I picked out the outfits that would suit a cold weather, and pulled out a familial headband from my dresser. Once I was done preparing, I knelt by the side of my bed and softly shook her.

"Nami.." I cooed. "Wake up."

"Mommy?" her voice was so eager and genuine, I couldn't help but frown. I pressed a kiss on her forehead.

"Let's go to school, yeah?" I stood up. Her eyes shot open, and she rubbed her eyes, sitting up and looking up at me. I couldn't help but chuckle at her bedhair. I guess I wasn't the only one..

"School?" she still looked sleepy, but she smiled.

I playfully pinched her cheek, "Yes. So how about we freshen up?"

After taking a bath and changing into comfy clothes, I grab the headband from the bedside table. She frowned. "Auntie, those things hurt!"

"But this one is cloth," I reassured, before slipping it into her head. "So it won't hurt your head when you wear it. Alright? And besides.. you'd want a clean hairstyle."

She nodded, and I took her hand as we exited the shop.

"Do I get to study in the same school as you, Auntie?" she asked curiously, and I felt her gaze on me as we crossed the street.

"Yes." I smiled down on her. She drifts her gaze away from me, and apparently, she has already seen Taehyung, as her grip around my hand loosened and she ran towards him.

"Naaaamiii!" Taehyung sang, crouching down and hugging her. "You're so adorable!"

"Prince!" she giggled. "Have you come to talk to Auntie? She's enrolling me in school! Do you study there too?"

"Yes, I do." Tae replied, lightly shaking her hands. "Do you want me to carry you?"

She gasped, "Yay!"

I couldn't help but laugh as Taehyung placed her on top of his shoulders. I looked up at her. "Nami, you wouldn't mind if we grow your bangs out and cut your hair to your shoulders, right?"

She shrugged and started playing with Taehyung's hair, "No, Auntie."

"Whaa?" Tae whined, giving me a pout. "But Yunaaa, she looks so adorable with bangs! Please don't let her grow them out, please?" he gave me a cute look, which was a huge smile.

I frowned, "Taehyung, you know I don't like a messy look."

"But.." he paused, before giving me a bright smile. "Ah! I'll trim her bangs every month!"

"Taehyung." I made my voice more stern. "She's going to grow out her bangs and if you want to, you can cut her hair. I don't want to cover her forehead. It'll look grimy."

"Come on, jagi?" he begged, moving closer and placing a quick kiss on my cheek, making Nami giggle. "Pleaaaase? You don't need to pay me."

I looked at him for a while, and I felt both of their curious gazes. I bit my lip and sighed. "Fine."

"Yay!" he slapped hands with Nami. "I get to trim your bangs, Nami! And we get to see each other more often!"

"Yay!" Nami took off her headband.

"Nami." I turned to look at her to scold her, I don't know why I was suddenly so paranoid. She giggled and wore it on Taehyung.

"Woah, prince, you look so handsome with a headband!" she said, moving her head so she could see him from his shoulders. It was more of like a bandana than a headband, actually...

"Do I?" Taehyung winked at me. And I'd be lying if I said he did not look.. yeah, I shouldn't say or think of that, or else I'd blush way too hard. I guess.. a lot more attractive..

"Don't look at me like that." I felt heat rise up my cheeks.

He smirked and inched closer, "Look at you like what?"

"Taehyung!" I shrieked, stumbling away from him and blushing madly. "Stop it."

Nami laughed. "Auntie's blushing!"

I pursed my lips. "Yes. That's because of the cold weather."

"No." He replied, swinging Nami's hands from above. "That's because she really likes me, Nami. You think so?"

"Yes." she said, resting her chin on top of his head. "But I think you like her more!"

Taehyung gently took Nami's bag from her and carried it on his own as we reached school. He placed her on the ground.

"Taehyung, remind me that we have to give her something warm when we get home, or else she'll get a cold." I said as I took off my beanie and placed it on top of her head. He nodded and gently grabbed her hand.

The enrollment didn't take too long. I just had to fill in some forms and pay the money for the first semester. Her average school day was shorter than mines, so that was a small problem, but I knew how to deal with that.

Soon, we were on the way home.

Taehyung carried Nami again, but this time, on his back. On the way, she was a lot quieter, which made me uncomfortable.

Her eyes started fluttering.

"Nami, are you okay?" I questioned, stopping in my tracks and tiptoeing so I could check her temperature. "You're burning up!"

"We'll be home soon." Tae reassured, smiling, even though she couldn't see him.

"Hmm." she replied.

"You can go to sleep." I said, running my fingers through her hair and planting a kiss on her forehead. She nodded and in an instance, she was already asleep.

"That was fast." Taehyung said, when our silent walk was soon accompanied by her soft snores.

"I didn't know she was this sensitive to the cold." I frowned.

"It's just a fever." he reassured. "She just needs medicine.. and rest! And then soon, she'll be okay!"

We reached the street where we had to separate ways.

I held out my arms. "Alright.. you better go home. Let me take Nami."

"I'm coming with you." he protested. "I want to take care of her too."

"Taehyung." I started.

"I'll be okay." he reassured. "Your parents won't be mad at me! I'll know how to handle it. You trust me, right?" he moved closer and planted a kiss on my cheek. "I don't know how, but I want to change your bandage for you!"

I felt myself smiling.

I sighed,

"Fine."
