I hoped we could stay best friends after everything would return to normal, but then again, nothing would be the same after I revealed my identity, and maybe it was for the best.
Miss Bustier walked in and welcomed me back to class, then began her lesson. Adrien quickly raced to the front where his seat was, but before he left, he planted a quick kiss on my forehead.
Alya was giving me a smirk, then wrote on her notebook paper, "I expect details on when and how Adrienette became a thing."
I rolled my eyes and chuckled quietly, writing back, "Of course you'll get the details! You're my BFF!"
"Good. I expect nothing less," she scribbled down.
"Marinette, Alya, I know you guys are excited to be hanging out together again, but please try to pay attention to my lesson. It'll be on the next test," Miss Bustier chuckled, shaking her head.
"Sorry Miss Bustier," we echoed one another, blushing in embarrassment.
"It's quite alright, girls. Now class, who can explain the importance of symbolism?" She redirected her attention to the lesson.
A few students raised their hands, but most looked at each other in wonder. The teacher held her pencil to her chin with a small hum, and chose a student.
"Yes Mylene?"
"Umm, it's a way in storytelling to hint the readers to uncover the true meaning behind something, the representation of what is happening in the story to help the readers become more involved in the story," Mylene explained, causing Miss Bustier to smile and nod approvingly.
"Good job! Symbolism plays a role in storytelling, like Mylene said, from the author to the reader in helping uncover the hidden messages in the story. We will be reading a story, and every night, you guys will read a chapter as assigned homework. However, we will be discussing the symbolism in class to enrich your learning. Additionally besides the reading, take a notebook and record things you think may contain symbolism and take your best guess at what you think the author meant. In class, we will be taking the time to talk about what you guys write down and we will learn together," the teacher told us.
"Can we see some examples of symbolism? I'm still a little confused on how something could contain a hidden message," Lila requested shyly.
I had almost forgotten about Lila. She knew I was Ladybug. She knew Marinette was Ladybug now. Would she hate me? I needed to talk to her, and apologize again for being so out of line with her before she was akumatized.
"Of course, Lila! I was just going to get into that. Alright class, pick your group of six and sit with them on the floor," Miss Bustier replied, then told us.
Alya, Adrien, Nino, and I turned to look at one another.
"Okay dude and dudettes, we've got four people. We need two more," Nino said, looking around the classroom. I nodded and left my seat to get the other two members.
"Hey Marinette! Mind if Sabrina and I join you guys? I promise it'll be nothing like last time where you and Sabrina did all the work," Chloe promised.
"You mean me, since someone had a date with Chat Noir," Sabrina scowled jokingly, putting her hands on her hips.
"Whoops! Again, I'm sorry about that Sabrina. Of course you girls could join! I was just about to get you two," I apologized, explaining.
