Fan Fiction

Aha, yes. THe most debated topic on Wattpad. Fan Fiction.

Some people argue that "this site would be so much better without Fan Fiction", while others say this is better off being a "Fan Ficiton Site". Which side am I on? Well.

If you've ever at least once clicked on my Profile Page, you would see that I have a number of stories. And they are all Fan Fics. But that doesn't mean I only read Fan Fiction, and that doesn't mean that Fan Fiction is all I ever want to write. (In fact, I am writing an original story or two, I just haven't posted the here yet). I know I'm going to get some shit in my Inbox with people telling me that I'm a Fanfic writer, and that's all I am, so I shouldn't be writing this. But that's not true.

I agree fully that this site is cluttered with too many Fanfics, but that doesn't mean every one of them is shit with awful writing. There are some very famous Fanfic writers on this site (albeit about 95% of them are 1D writers) who, I'm sure, have very good stories. Are my stories any good? Well, I'm awful at plots and such, but I think I'm at least okay at grammar and spelling. (My other stories have much more proofreading than this, which is why there are countless typos in this book) However, this doesn't mean that every other Original Story writers are geniuses. But again, around 95% of people who write Original Stories on here know what they're doing and are more serious about chapters and plotlines.

What I'm getting across at is that yes, there are too many Fanfics on this site, and Fanfic writers shoud try to write at least one Original Story at one point in their time on Wattpad, but that doesn't mean every writer of Fanfics have absolutley no creativity or other ideas. I understand where people are getting at that idea, but it still slightly pisses me off when people think that every fanfic writer is physically incapable of writing anything "real" or being serious about their Fanfics. As a writer of Fanfics, I try to take my works seriously and I put a lot of effort into them.

This was another short Rant, but it's more of a calmer one on my side on what I think about Fanfics on Wattpad.
