It was lunch time for Jasmine in the Blake's group of companies.

She brought out her smartphone, tapped on contacts icon and searched Carl and was about to dial his number, when she remembered they've broken up, she stopped herself and touched the backward key.

Carl usually picked her up for lunch but that isn't gonna happen now.....not ever.

Well, she thought,if I sit here waiting for Carl to pick me up for lunch, I would just starve. So with that thought, she stood up and headed for the Blake's restaurant.

She chose a table near the restaurant's window for reasons she just couldn't think of,well it just felt okay and right.

Soon a waitress who looked like teenager, probably sixteen or seventeen with chestnut brown hair of shoulder length, icy blue eyes, pale white skin, thin lips, and obviously new to this place, came over to take Jasmine's order of a bottle of water and blue corn enchiladas topped with a green chili sauce served with confetti like chorizo. The waitress brought her a glass with a bottle of water after some minutes and returned to get her enchilada.

Jasmine's eyes roamed round the massive Blake's restaurant while sipping her glass of water. This place had grown surprisingly in size and efficiency.

No one would actually believe that this place had only been opened only a year and a half ago. It was beautiful. The teenage waitress arrived with her order and left.

She bit into her enchilada and savoured the taste, but unfortunately it reminded her of Carl, as she remembered she made this for his birthday, and soon she lost her appetite, in the process she picked on her food instead.

After a few minutes, a young man who was probably in his early thirties with streaked blonde hair and cobalt blue eyes, and a not too muscular body, approached her.

He wore a white shirt and black trousers with sneakers,he drew out a chair opposite her and sat.

"Hi madam" he said. Jasmine rolled her eyes as a way of showing disinterest, but he continued "I am Albert MacPherson, I'm a chef. I just wanted to know from you if there's a problem with the food."

Jasmine looked lost.

"I meant to ask if there's a problem with the enchilada" Albert said.

Understanding dawned on Jasmine and she replied"oh no there isn't . Why are you asking?"

"The thing is that no one picks their plate of enchilada except there's a problem with it" Albert explained.

"I'm sorry. I just lost my appetite" Jasmine said.

"It happens."Albert asked.

Jasmine smiled a little and gave a little nod wishing silently that he would just leave her alone.

"Are you alright?" He asked

"Yes" Jasmine answered.

"It seems like I'm disturbing. Do you want me to go?" Albert asked.

You read people too well, but I have to lie to be polite. "No what makes you think that?"

"That's what you seem to be telling me without actually saying it. You are alone today, I don't see him around. Is he coming?" Albert asked.

"Who are you referring to?" She inquired.

"The one who usually have lunch with you here" the man answered.

So you've been watching me. Jasmine thought.

"He......he is.....um…"she stuttered and finally went speechless.

Albert scrutinized her face carefully and asked "is everything alright between you two?"

Jasmine looked on not knowing how to answer.

"I don't mean to pry madam but it saddens my heart to see you pick your enchilada" Albert changed the topic for her convenience.

Grateful for the change of topic she asked"mmm. ...and why is that?"

"It is that because I want to know how much you'd rate my cooking" Albert told her.

"Wow,I must say it's delicious" jasmine said.

"Then, why do you pick your food?"Albert persisted.

"Like I said before,I lost my appetite"she reminded him.

"Aww,so sad" he made a sad puppy face that made her smile, "please......please eat?"he pleaded in a fake cute tiny voice.

"Haha Ha. Okay, okay, I would just take a little more."Jasmine told him and did as she said.

"A little more please"Albert persisted and before she could realise it, she was through with the enchilada.

"Thanks" Jasmine said.

"No problem"Albert replied. "You're welcome I have a treat that'll make your tongue dance like a kid.

"I dare you" Jasmine replied.

"Alright, excuse me" Albert left and returned soon with a crusty, honey, soaked sopapilla and coffee."Try this"

"Mmm......it does make my tongue dance like a kid", she took a glance at her wristwatch and said "I have to get back to the office, Albert. Thanks for making my thirty minutes break look like an happy hour."

"We aim to please"Albert replied with a grin, "here's my card, call me if you need me miss......."

"Jasmine Blake" Jasmine filled in.
"Alright madam, have a nice day" he said giving her a two finger salute.

"Thanks" Jasmine left the restaurant happier than before.…………………………………………..................................................................
