The date was December 10th, 2017.
I had just been invited to my friend May's 16th birthday party. I was getting ready for the party in my room picking out my outfit. I wore a red long sleeve un-button up shirt with a white tank top underneath it, black skinny jeans with a pair of black high tops, and finally a beanie to cover my head as it was cold outside. Something in me felt that this night would be special and I had no clue as to why.
When I got finished I asked my sister Leaf to drop me off at the party which she agreed too. Once we got in the car, I just couldn't stop thinking about what was causing me to feel like something extraordinary was going to happen. Who knows it might all just be in my head. Little did I know the moment I stopped thinking about it, we had arrived at the party. I said goodbye to my sister and thanked her as she took off. I went up to the door and
Rung the doorbell waiting to be let inside. Not too much later my friend May opened up the door and had let me in. When I walked in everyone was in pajamas...
Not only that but there was nothing but girls there. I was beyond embarrassed as I could feel my cheeks heating up extremely.
"Hey Ash, I thought I mentioned that it was a pajama party? " May had said laughing.
"Nope you didn't mention it at all... Either way I don't wear pajamas when I sleep so I don't have a pair." I said in a shy timid voice.
"Well I have a onesie you can wear that's about ur size. I hope you don't mind being a Greninja!" She said as she told me to follow her upstairs. When we had gotten upstairs she had thrown me the inside and I went to the bathroom to change. As I was changing I couldn't help but feel
embarrassed as I was the only boy there surrounded by 15 girls. I looked in the mirror and blushed from my appearance in the onesie. I then went down stairs and walked into the kitchen where everyone was. May had pulled me closer to the group of girls and was about to introduce me.
"Girls this is Ash, we've been friends for years! Since elementary school." May had said looking at everyone. I then waved shyly and looked at all the girls. One by one my eyes passed by each of them until I saw her...
She had beautiful Cerulean blue eyes, short blonde hair, and had the face of a complete angel. My heart had stopped for a moment before pounding rapidly as my stomach then turned to butterflies. I could've sworn my face was in shock from admiring her beauty. Before she could notice I was staring at her I quickly snapped out of my trance and looked the other way.
May had begun introducing them one by one. I was intrigued to know the girls name so I payed close attention for when she would announce her. There was something about this girl that made me all jittery. She was absolutely gorgeous any person could see that but it wasn't only that. It felt as if my heart had connected to hers the moment we looked each other in the eyes. When I looked in her eyes I saw happiness,sweetness, and a soul waiting to be loved.
"That one right there with the blonde hair is Serena..." May had said but I zoned out as she continued saying the last three. So her names Serena... what a lovely name. I wanted to talk to her but I was too shy. How could I talk to someone who's as interesting as her?! It's got to either be impossible or really hard. When she had smiled at me I blushed and had a smile on my face as well. When I waved to her she giggled making my smile bigger.
May had then suggested we go to the living room to play a game of Cards against society. I was so shy and embarrassed to still have been around that many people I didn't know so I stuck close to May until my cousin Dawn would arrive.
*Knock,Knock*
Speak of the devil.
"Hey everyone!!!! Happy birthday May!" Dawn had shouted as she entered the house. A sign of relief had crossed through my body and I smiled that my cousin had arrived making me feel a little less awkward. That was until I noticed her pajamas....
She was a Miltank and she was coming to sit by me.
I had looked over and caught Serena giggling but from reading her cards thank goodness.
When everyone was settled we had started playing Cards against society. Everything was going normal, funny moments here and there from reading the cards. I couldn't stop staring at Serena every so often and when I felt she might notice I would instantly turn and talk to Dawn. All of a sudden May had brought out the silly string cans out of nowhere and started spraying us and when we saw silly string cans by us as well ,we had sprayed each other with it. When it was all over I noticed a silly string ball thrown at me and looked to see where it came from. It was none other then Serena who had thrown it and was smiling at me as I returned the smile. I took this opportunity to start playfully flirting with her by throwing it back at her. We started throwing it back and forth smiling and laughing a little until she had thrown it over my head and we lost it. Then we just ended up giggling before we returned to talking to the people besides us.
"Look at you Ashy!" Dawn had said to me winking and giggling. I blushed and sprayed whatever silly string I had left at her.
The doorbell rang meaning the pizzas had arrived and everyone had ran to the kitchen to get a slice. When I had grabbed my slice I had gone to the couch to sit down and eat. Too busy to notice someone had sat by me I kept eating peacefully. That was until I got hit with a balloon. I looked to the side thinking it was Dawn but it had actually been... you guessed it Serena.
"Hey what was that for?" I said smiling and giggling.
She just shrugged her shoulders and I could see a blush on her cheeks. I then took a balloon right behind me before she could notice and hit her playfully with it. We then started hitting each other back and forth laughing and playing which kinda ended up with a little playful hand contact of us trying to take the balloons from each other. When we ended up popping our balloons we just sat and talked the night away. Not a moment had we left each other's side. We talked about what we do as a hobby,What school we went to, how many pets we have,and just anything that came to mind. Before we knew it we had begun taking photos of each other and playfully wrestling for each of us to delete those photos. At one point we even ended up under a blanket on the couch side by side which felt so right and natural . I felt at peace and comfort and for the first time actual love for someone. I had fallen for her and I knew it. It was like we had a very special connection for each other. Before the night could end we had ended up giving each other all our social medias and phone numbers. We even hugged goodbye. When I had left the party, I realized why tonight had felt like there would be something special. It's because I met someone who captured my before I could even take notice of it. What would be in store for us later on down the road would sure be interesting... I just knew I had to see her again.
