After the quick lunch, and Mason thanking Vanessa for coming with him politely, he bid her his farewell. When she asked to walk back to the office with him, he responded by telling her he was busy, and maybe another time. She smiled and placed a sloppy kiss on his cheek before heading down the road.

Mason leaned against the outside of the building and sighed. Boy, was he happy to be rid of her. After contemplating what to do, he decided to go back into the Starbucks. The Iced Latte Vanessa had ordered him was terrible, and he decided he needed a cup of his usual. Suspecting it was probably waiting behind the counter, he headed back in.

Callie was just sitting their, staring at the slowly cooling cup of black coffee that bared the name "Mason" in the her neatest possible hand writing. She felt embarrassed and stupid, for even liking someone so far out of her league.

When she heard the door open, she looked up, expecting to see someone in business attire enter. Instead, Mason walked back in, alone this time, with a smile on his face. Callie's eyebrows furrowed together and she forced her lips into a straight line. She decided not to question him and when he asked for his coffee, this time she didn't pretend to brew it, but instead handed it straight to him. His charming face held a smirk, like he had suspected that. He paid and went to sit down in the corner before sipping his coffee.

Mason knew that Callie was hurt, thinking he was seeing someone. And truth to be told, he wasn't. He didn't like to see her like that, so downcast, and finally stood up, knowing what he had to do. He needed to not be embarrassed and watch from the sidelines as the girl he really liked sat depressed in the corner. Mason had to talk to her, other than their typical routine,  and actually have a conversation with her.

Seeing him stand up, Callie at first thought he was eager to leave, and she felt as if she was making him uncomfortable. It startled her though when he appeared by the counter, still sipping his coffee. She approached warily, scared by what he might say. Nothing like this had ever happened before. Did he...?

No, it was a silly thought. He would never like her, and thinking so would only get her into more trouble than she already was.

"Is their anything else I can get you?" Callie spoke trying to sound as cheerful as possible as she plastered a fake smile on her face.

This was Mason's chance. A chance to talk to her, get to know her. Maybe at some point ask her out. But for now, he settled for this. "Yes, there is actually. Could you tell me the Wi-Fi password?"
