'W-What's going on?' Wilmer asks sleepily as Charlotte's cries fill the bedroom as Demi lifts the newborn into her arms.

'She's just hungry, aren't you darling?' Demi replies as she pulls down her nursing bra and lets the little girl latch on.

'What time is it?' Wilmer asks and Demi glances over at the clock on her bedside table.

'Ten past five; you can go back to sleep. I'll change her once she's finished nursing.' She replies.

'It's okay. I'll go grab you some water. Do you need anything else?' He asks.

'Could you grab me some fresh breast pads? There should be some in the nursery?' She asks and he nods his head.

'Course I can, nena.' He replies smiling. She glances down at Charlotte and runs her finger down the newborn's cheek as Wilmer leaves the room.

'You are so perfect, little lady. You'll get to meet Auntie Kelsey today and our doggies; they're crazy but you'll love them as you get older and are able to play with them.' Demi says smiling down at the baby.

'Water and breast pads... We'll need to pick up some more of these today, this was your last two.' Wilmer says as he makes his way back into the room.

'Okay.' She replies smiling slightly as she glances down at the baby in her arms.

'We've got a daughter.' She says and he laughs slightly.

'Still sinking in, nena?' He asks and she nods her head.

'I just- She's so perfect.' She replies as he sits down on the bed beside her.

'She looks like you.' He says.

'Do you want to invite your mom over today so she can meet Charlotte?' She asks glancing up at him.

'If you're feeling up to visitors?' He replies and she nods her head.

'Yeah, I mean I don't mean invite everyone over but your mom will be fine.' She says causing him to smile.

'I'll phone her later; it's a bit early.' He replies and she nods her head.

'Go back to sleep, Wilmer. I don't actually think she needs changed so I'll just pop her in the bassinet when she's done and go back to sleep.' She says.

'Are you sure? I don't mind keeping you company?' He asks and she shakes her head.

'No use us both being exhausted, babe.' She replies. Leaning over he kisses the top of her head before lying down and pulling the covers over him.

'I love you.' He says.

'I love you more.' She replies.

_____

'Are you going to meet your Abuelita?' Wilmer asks as he places the pale pink hairband on Charlotte's little head.

'We might come with you to pick her up; I need to pop into buybuybaby.' Demi says making her way into the nursery.

'I can go for you?' Wilmer replies.

'But I don't really know what it is I want. I want to look at the stuff so I can decide.' Demi says.

'Well go put some clothes on and we'll go just now then I'll bring you two back here... I don't want you to be too uncomfortable in the car that long.' He replies and she nods her head. She goes to the bedroom and quickly changes into some black sweatpants and a matching hoodie. She pulls her hair back into a messy bun before making her way back to the nursery where Wilmer is fastening Charlotte into her carseat.

'You ready?' He asks and she nods her head.

'I'm ready.' She replies.

****

'Kelsey's going to drop the dogs off around 3.' Demi says as they make their way into BuyBuyBaby; Wilmer has the carseat, the dream drape down to shield Charlotte, cradled in the crook of his elbow while his other arm holds Demi close to his side.

'Okay. I don't think my mom will stay long, she'll probably just leave us to it.' Wilmer replies and Demi shakes her head.

'She must stay for dinner, Wilmer. My parents are going to be staying at the house when they fly out and I don't want your mom feeling pushed out.' Demi replies grabbing a basket.

'She's not going to feel left out, Demi. You just gave birth and you're recovering.' He says.

'And I'm pretty sure I can sit on the sofa and eat dinner with your mom.' She replies and he nods his head.

'Okay then. I'll say to her when I pick her up.' He says causing her to smile.

'Good.' She replies.

I'm not entirely sure if they've use Abuela for Wilmer's mom but I googled it so feel free to tell me if I'm wrong.
