Alice sat on her windowsill watching the swallows swoop and dive through the sky. She sighed, she would miss the quiet, peaceful countryside when she moved to Henry's palace in London. The wedding is tomorrow. What if she isn't ready to be a queen. She supposed she had read a lot about them in books. Her favourite books contained stories of princes, princesses, kings and queens but they were medieval not tudors. "Alice!" Her mother, Joan Miller, lady somerset called her down for breakfast.

"I am going to be so proud tomorrow!" Joan told her daughter. Agnes fiddled nervously with her pale blonde hair, she was the complete opposite of her sister because while she had straight, blonde hair and blue eyes, her sister had curly, brown hair and matching brown eyes. "You're not even worried?" Agnes asked uncertainly, "remember what happened to the last queen?". Anne Bolyen, the last queen was beheaded for "flirting" with other men. "Agnes," Alice began, "I promise I am not going to die when I become queen. If Henry does have enough of me then he will probaly divorce me."
