First week of middle school is fine so far.

My best friend Jeremy and I only have 1 class together so that really bummed out my whole trimester.

Walking to lunch today, I noticed Jeremy walking with some kids I see around school. Those were the kids that always got in trouble.

I got in trouble, but not for the stuff they do.

I sat at our usual table only to see Jeremy completely ignore me and go sit on the other side of the room with his 'friends'

'It's okay, I have other friends' I thought to myself .

For the next few minutes I sat alone waiting for my other best friend Sarah.

Where is she?

I have no idea.

I sit down patiently and wait to get called for lunch. Once we are able to get in line I find Sarah , with my ex.

Ouch.

Tough middle school love, gross.

In line I stand quietly listening into random conversations. One really interested me.

"So, are you going with us after school or what?" said a voice of an obvious druggy.

Seconds later I hear a familiar voice answer very hesitantly.

"Yeah, I had no plans"

Jeremy .

Really?

He goes to my house everyday after school.

That's fine though.

Perfectly fucking fine.

"Oh, hey Maddie." I hear Jeremy say to me from behind.

Quickly I pulled on a fake smile and turned around.

"Hi Jeremy" I said calmly.

"Sorry I have to cancel plans today. My friends want to help me with something." he explained.

He looked pretty sincere.

"It's fine. I know you can't go to my house EVERY da."

I said like it was nothing.

"Great, I'll catch up with you later, gotta go, love you."

He said running off back to his table.

It's normal for us to say love you to each other . we're practically brother and sister.

Quickly the end of the day came and I walked home, alone, with nothing but my own thoughts and the sound of Alex Koehler's beautiful voice chiming in my ears.

Weeks have passed.

Days upon days with no contact from Sarah or Jeremy.

Starting to get awfully lonely. Specially since it's almost winter ad that means I have to walk home in freezing cold.

Today felt different though.

I felt like today might be really good or really bad.

Who knows?

After my choir class I walked to my locker to see a boy running down the hall away from my locker. I recognized him as one of Jeremy's friends.

Carefully I opened my locker to find a note.

Okayy?

Dear Maddie,

We are starting to drift away and I want you to come over today after school. I'm leaving school early so I can't walk home with you. Be at my house by 3:15.

Love you :)

Wow, he finally noticed we were 'starting' to drift?

Oh well. I'll go to his house anyway.

*skip to 3:10*

I walk up the stairs to Jeremy's house and knock on the door.

In the summer I would barge in, but it's different now.

The door opened to his beyond happy mom.

"Hi Maddie! Jeremy's in the basement go ahead."

She smiled.

Smiling back I run down the stairs to see the lights off.

Uhh.

"Jeremy?" I looked around.

Then I saw Jeremy walk out of the back room with a guitar.

Once he's in the lounge area he turns a lamp on and sits down then motions me to sit across from him. Is it safe to say Im beyond scared?

"What would I do without your smart mouth?

Drawing me in

Then kicking me out."

He began to sing quietly,

I have no clue why, but I was on the verge of tears.

By the time he finished I was actually crying.

He looked at me with a worried face as if I didn't like it.

"I'm so sorry, I -uh -ugh- can uhm- urghregygg" he struggled with his words, pulling on his hair.

"Jeremy, Jeremy! look , I loved it. I never saw it coming but I loved it."

I smiled while hugging him.

"You did?!" he asked in complete shock.

"Yeah. Of course I did!"

"Listen, this year I really wanted to show to you how i really felt.When I got here my friends said they would help me with whatever.

I, of course couldn't keep a secret so I couldn't talk to you. I've been writing this song all summer, I just needed some adjustments. I'm sorry for ignoring you. Specially when I heard Sarah ditched you for Brian.

Madison Marie White, I want you to know how much I really love you."

He finished with a sigh of relief like he was holding all that in forever .

"I'm speechless" I said honestly.

"I love you to Jeremy" I smiled as he pulled me into our first kiss.

The song Jeremy sang was all of me by john legend.

I love the song even tho the genre isn't my cup of tea. the songs beautiful so I acted like Jeremy wrote it. k?
