"Be ready for tomorrow..." His remark from yesterday finally made sense.
He knew I was coming over. Shit, I'm done for! My life on earth will cease to exist once they leave me in the hands of Daniel. Say goodbye to graduating or kissing Cliff Fetcher, the quarterback of our school's football team, the Badgers and my all-time crush. He kind of knocked over my books in the hallway. We both reached for the same algebra paper and our hands met. He laughed silently and apologized before walking me to class. Cliché love romance, I know and I'm way over my head. After that day, I haven't seen much of him, but I've made it my mission to tell him how I feel at the homecoming dance. Gives me seven months to grow some courage.
I'm getting off topic, being alone with Parker is a bad thing, he's too unpredictable. He could be sweet and goofy on one side, then manipulative and mean on the other. He'd stab me in the neck and then say 'Sorry, I mistook the knife for a piece of celery!?' And that brings to another trait of his, he's crazy. Just like his maniacal father who's planning something under his belt and his clingy mother who loves to hug the life out of me! They're all crazy!
Don't forget the many dirty pickup lines he loves to try on me--or any girl. I have to hear 'Hey I like your pants, can I get in them?' until my ears bleed!
"I judged the boy at first, but he's not bad." Dad and his opinions. He's not use to you, dad! Unlike the people he's most comfortable with and I just so happen to be one. Why did I talk to him in front of Fredino's store in the first place?
The owner was all up in your personal space.
Still not worse than now! The car stopped and I cried my heart out. I won't be needing it for long. Only until I step foot into that house. Then I'll just be another memory for all my friends and family. I'll miss Jules the most, I never got to sneeze on her.
Bye civilization as I know it, I hardly knew thee.
I stepped out of the car and slammed the door. Might as well I show my pissed off attitude towards them. No amount of trips will make up for this. "Have a nice time!" What am I, four? They gave me that same response when Stacy, an old babysitter was left to take care of their only child. And the feeling I had that day resembled now. Neglect.
I had reached the front door to their house. Maple wooded doors are hard to find in West River. How do you even know that? Wood Workshop's a pain in the ass, but you learn a thing while drilling a nail into your head. It's really boring. All they do is ask trivial questions on wood. Hence the name, Wood Workshop. They gave me that class because they had filled every other interesting subject.
I raised my hand to knock, only having the door swing open before I could do so and two happy figures beamed down to my miserable soul.
"Someone's got the case of the grumpies!" Mr. Parker mocked.
Kick rocks old man! I never wanted to see your lowdown, dirty face again! I would say it out loud but I think the silent treatment would speak much louder than words. I flashed a warm smile to Mary who replied me with the same gesture. We should have more people like her around. She isn't a pain like her husband.
"Come in. Make yourself at home Emily. There's pudding and pie in the fridge and snacks on the table." As I trudged my sluggish body towards the sofa, Mrs. Parker fixed her earrings, watching Daniel sleepwalk to the bathroom.
The devil's awake!
I slipped right off the leather couch and landed on my behind. It was waxed numerous times before I got here because the rapid speed I was sliding at felt like my description. Fortunately, I fell in a comfortable position where my knees were propped up against my chest, so I just decided to stay like that for a while. It's like seven in the morning, I have all rights to be lazy!
