Chapter Fourty-Seven

From the tracking spell that Avarice had completed, it was clear that there was only one more group of vampires that wanted Klaus dead. At least, one more group that was actually willing to hunt him.

It was easy to find them. They were in the forest, ready to surround the house. One by one, she took them down.

There were more than any other group she had gone after. And this time, she was not alone in fighting them.

She heard screams from the other side of the forest, more and more screams echoing over to her. Then black dust materialized into a man beside her, and that man was one that she had not seen in months.

"Kaige," she said with widened eyes as she panted softly. "What are you doing here?"

"There are more this time," he stated coolly, wiping his bloodied hands on his trousers. "Not that you needed any help, but I decided to offer my services."

His head snapped to the side, and then he darted off towards another vampire that was heading towards the house.

They just kept on coming. She and Kaige were right; there were far, far more. There had to be at least fifty, maybe even a hundred. If there were any point where the enemies of the Mikaelson's tried to attack at the same time, it was then. Everywhere she looked, there was another vampire ready to kill Klaus Mikaelson.

A vampire sent a fist at her face, and which she grabbed in one hand and then proceeded to pull on so quickly and so roughly that she removed the vampire's arm from his body entirely. He screamed, right before Avarice sent her flattened hand at his head and decapitated him.

Another tackled her to the ground, and proceeded to attempt at choking her, when Avarice sent her forehead directly at her nose. The vampire yelped and fell backwards, but not before Avarice grabbed the woman's long hair and yanked it so hard that Avarice napped her neck.

More vampires tried to kill her, or at least incapacitate her, but nothing worked. She was stronger than them and they knew it.

It wasn't long before Avarice was finished on her side of the forest. Only a few moments later, one last shriek echoed through the trees until a sickening crack was heard. Avarice winced a little.

Kaige materialized in front of her, his clothes and skin splattered with blood. It was especially on his hands, which were practically dripping with it. That caused Avarice to look at her own hands.
