Past is an unusual thing.
It's not there anymore. But it's still going to affect your actions. But it doesn't always have to be a bad thing. It will change you. But it's up to you to decide whether you want it to be in a good, or a bad way.
I guess it would be really cliché to say that 'everything happens for a reason'.
Well, you get the drift.
Even now as I slip back into old memories when there was you, I realize there was no other way to pick up the pieces of the mess that I had created.
But you figured out a way.
You always do, don't you?
Even if it involves you destroying yourself completely, you will just go through with it if it means cleaning up after other people's mess and handing them a clean slate.
That quality in you is exactly what keeps you residing inside the fragments of my memories.
