Ah, a fresh spring day breeze.
"Seoyun, what are you thinking about now?" Jungkook asked, waving his hand in front of my face. It was now that I realised that I spaced out again, "Huh?... Oh! I was just thinking about how we're finally leaving for college tomorrow", I smiled to him.
I'd known Jungkook for fifteen years. And he still didn't know.
"I know, the time has flown over, how are your parents feeling?", he questioned me with a goofy look on his face. My smile dropped, I looked him dead in the eyes. "They're fine with it", I replied coldly. He seemed to be taken aback by my reaction, but the truth was I didn't care. "I'm going to head back inside now", I said as I got up from sitting next to him on his rooftop, and started to leave. I felt his hand grab my wrist and before I knew it he turned me to face me and embraced me in his arms.
I could feel his heart beating in his chest, he always did give comforting hugs. "I can't believe this time tomorrow we'll no longer live at home", he hugged me tighter, "I'm excited, but I'll miss when we talk to each other on the rooftops like this", he continued. "Jungkook, we're going to the same college, yes our dorm buildings will be different but you'll be able to text or call whenever you need me", I reassured him, pulling away and freeing myself from his embrace.
Finally, home.
I love Jungkook, he's always been like a brother to me, but sometimes he suffocated me. I guess it's not his fault, he doesn't know after all.
I looked around my room at the few boxes barely full of what little belongings I had. My room was always pretty empty, but now it was as if nobody had even lived here to begin with. I sat on my windowsill looking out to the park just up the street from my house, when I get rudely interrupted, "SEOYUN, GET DOWN HERE NOW!", I heard my father calling.
As I head downstairs I notice my father staring at the kitchen sink furiously. "What's w-wrong?" I asked, looking down at my feet. "WHAT'S WRONG?!", he bellowed, "It might be your last night here, that doesn't mean you get to skip out on your chores to hang out with that boy again!".
Here we go again.
"I was making sure he had everything sorted for travelling to college tomorrow, I was just about to come and clean the kitchen, if you'd have just waited instead of making a fuss", I back chatted. I knew he hated when I did this, but it was my last night. I didn't care.
He furiously walked towards me, and stared into my eyes. Lifting his hand, I knew what was coming. He didn't break eye contact as he wacked my face with all his might. I stood straight back up, glaring into his eyes, and said, "You're going to miss this aren't you", I smirked and walked over to the sink to do my chores.
My face was throbbing, and tears were beginning to well up in my eyes, but I couldn't cry. Not today. I had to piss him of as much as I could before I left.
I finished my chores within mere minutes, since I kept on top of them well, there wasn't much to do. I went straight back to my room, locking my door behind me.
I hope that hurt him more than it hurt me.
