I slipped my student ID into the slot and pulled the door handle open. The room was dark and quiet on the other side of the door. I felt around the wall next to me for a light switch and flicked it on once I finally found it. I stepped inside and shut the door behind me. The room was actually quite nice. The floors were wooden and both sides of the walls had a set of bunk beds. The bottom bunks were pulled up into couches like a futon, but could easily be pushed back down and converted into a bed. On the side of the bunks closest to the door were wardrobes where we could store our clothing. The other end held long desks with book shelves beside it for more storage space. The window at the end of the room was huge, the type that'd filter in a lot of natural light. It had a built in bench and dark blue curtains drawn around it. I noticed boxes of my stuff were placed in front of the bunk on the right hand side. My eyes widened in surprise as I recognized the ones I had dropped off at the office not too long ago. I wonder how it got here so fast. My side of the room was blank and barren, my roommate's on the other hand wasn't. I was kind of relieved to only be sharing the room with one other person. I glanced over at his stuff, wondering what he might be like.

His wardrobe was left open and I noticed the majority of his clothes lay in heaps just outside of it. The inside held a mass of clothing as well, some hung up on hangers while others were thrown on top of the open doors. I wrinkled my nose. It looked like my new roommate wasn't the most organized person. Most of his clothing consisted of ripped jeans and band shirts. I smirked as I spotted a pair of fire engine red briefs with the word sexy in bold black lettering on the back. I snickered at them a moment more before glancing over the rest of his stuff. The couch under his bed had a black sheet pulled over it with small pillows strewn across. A pile of books occupied one corner of the couch, the top one lying open. The other side had music scores and a stand set up with sheet music placed on it. My curiosity was sparked as I glanced at the piece on the stand. It was the sheet music to Scars by Papa Roach and I nodded my head in approval. I got excited when I saw the acoustic guitar propped up against his desk. Cool, I had another music enthusiast as a roommate. I searched through my belongings until I spotted the black case that contained my electric guitar. Next to it was that box that held the amps for it, I made sure to write fragile across all the sides not wanting them to break or be damaged on their way here. I looked back up to my roommates actual bed now. He had dark green sheets and a matching comforter with a plaid design on it spilling over the sides of his bunk. Above it were posters of various bands, most of them surprisingly enough were some of my favorite ones. There were Papa Roach, A Day to Remember, Green Day, Blink 182, Sleeping with Syrens, and Falling in Reverse posters lining the walls. I nodded my head again approvingly at his taste in music. I scanned over his desk and found it to be just as messy as the rest of his stuff. Books and papers from last year, or maybe this year, littered the space. A mini fridge was beside it, empty monster cans piling up on top of it.

Above his desk was a bulletin board that was covered with pictures. I leaned in and looked them over, trying to see if I could guess which one of the people's smiling faces was my roommate. Most of the pictures contained the same three people. The years varied as I could tell some were older than the rest. With each picture the people were getting older and somehow seemingly more immature. A girl, who had long black hair in one of the older looking pictures, had a short pixie cut in another. A different girl who had short and wavy honey brown hair in another picture, had her hair reaching down to the middle of her back with a multitude of colors in it in the one beside it. Then there was this boy who kept showing up who I assumed was my roommate. He was pretty cute from what I could see, much like all the other guys at this school. He had messy dark brown hair that seemed to stick out in all directions. It was a sexy messy style though with cowlicks flicking up through the tangles. He had olive colored skin and bright green eyes that were full of light. Just looking at his wide smile somehow put me in a better mood, though I'm not sure why. Just from looking at the pictures I could tell he was a very energetic person.
