Fade Away

-Chris's POV-

We drove out if the small car park,
The restaurant was located outside the city of Scranton, on a cliff side with a pretty view over the city.
Nightfall had swept the sky,
And it was pitch black out,
The moonlight was the only light source which gloated against Elise's beautiful skin.
I smiled and took her hand in mine.
"I really enjoyed tonight, you know" I smiled kissing the back of her hand.
"Thankyou Chris it was very generous of you"
"Anything for you babe"
She blushed,
"what?" I laughed,
"Babe, it's strange to be called babe"
"I call you baby all the time"
"I know but it's just- I-
"It's cute when you blush." I grinned
"Hush you,"
We played KoRn on the stereo and we both sang along to the words.
We laughed and sang about a quarter of the way home when a blinding light shined behind us.
Elise looked behind us, as did I, noticing two lights which followed the tail of our car.
"It looks like we ain't alone"
"I think they are following us."
"Nonsense, they are probably are just heading into town like us"
She nodded and gripped my hand.
I turned down the music as I drove.
The following car grew closer to the back of my vehicle which gave me slight anxiety.
I felt a jolt for the back of the car,
I we both snapped and turned around.
"That fucker just bashed into the back of my car!"
"D-don't stop" she began to shake,
"Ellie I've got you, now just keep calm alright?"
"Okay," she took a deep breath.
I kept my eyes on the road as I tried to lose them which was hard as we were on a small dirt road.
We drove passed the woods and passed a few farms.
Elise kept looking back at them
"They have yellow lights"
"Huh?"
"It's a Swedish car"
"How are you so sure"
"The lights are duller and yellow tinted. A large percentage of European cars are made that way, mostly old ones that is"
"It can't be him" I shook my head.
"Can it?" I said looking at her,
Another smash against the back of our car made us both jerk forward and hit our heads.
"Who the fuck is tha-
"It's him" Elise said in shock.
,"it's my father, and my mother is with him" she said, her eyes as wide as the moon.
They sped along side our car,
His haunting face gave me chills.
"Put your seatbelt on Ellie"
"I have it on"
"Then tighten it, quick"
"W-what are you going to do" she said shakily.
I gripped onto the streaming wheel.
They banged into the side of our car trying to swerve us off the road.
I sped up, going over the limit.
Elise gripped into the door.
"Chris-
"I know"
I got in front of them, back to them being on our tail.
"Baby hold on you understand"
"Be careful"
"Fuck this" I made a sharp turn, drifting my car along the road confusing them as the sped past us.
I sighed in relief.
"Babe I think I done it, I think I lost them"
She kissed me passionately as a Thankyou.
I chuckled and sped off back on our journey home,
"I'm the man!" I yelled in triumph.
"You are the man" she grinned.
We carried on driving, Elise switching the music.
She relaxed and rested her head against the side of the door looking out the window into the mass of darkness,
Nirvana filled our ears.
Two lights shined in her eyes,
"Oh fuck" I whispered to myself trying to speed up,
the car sped towards the side of my vehicle.
"Chris they ain't stopping" Elise shook her head,
"Oh my god-
"Not good!" She yelled as the crashed into the side of us.
Broken glass shooting through us treating us to shreds as the car spun out of control,
Throwing us off the road, the car forcing through a barbed wire fence and carried on into a large field. Being stopped by a tree.
My eyes glanced over at the girl I loved.
As everything just slowed down.
We both stared at each other in fear.
For a second I swear she looked me in the eye,
But of course not fully.
She screamed my name before we were hit with high impact.
Everything went black, yet I felt at peace.

There was silence.
nothing but little crystals of broken glass fell down on the couple which both lay sat, hunched forward, chris's head against the steering wheel, and Elise's hung from her neck facing down.
Her body was too weak to hold it up.
Edmund and his love blinded wife stood by their car, grinning as they classed their daughter and her partner as dead.
They held hands and left the scene.

-Chris's POV-

I flinched back into consciousness.
I grunted as I moved my neck,
" Ellie? Baby?" I struggled to speak.
She never moved.
"Ellie, e- e Elise!"
She flinched awake
I sighed, "oh thank god"
"W-what happened, my father-
"He's gone, they left,"
A mass of blood filled the bottom of the car.
"Who's blood is that?" She said weakly.
"I have no idea."
She looked up as tears ran down her cheeks.
"No, no baby your gonna stay calm with me you understand? I'm gonna get us out of here just let me figure out our options okay?"
She nodded.
I undid my seatbelt, slowly lifting the belt from my neck.
I winced and bit my lip as the friction burn was severe across my neck and along my shoulder.
I kicked the door open and crawled out.
I limped over to the other side.
And broke down the other door,
"Okay come to me baby" I said softly,
She tugged on her belt trying to click it.
"What's wrong"
"M-my belt is stuck"
She began to panic, trying to break free.
"Elise stop-
She yelped in pain and stopped.
"What is I to?"
"My shoulder, I- I think I've dislocated my shoulder"
"Okay okay your fine, uhh, your switch blade you got your switch blade"
"M-my back pocket,
"Okay can you lift your back?"
"I'll try"
I grabbed the blade and she collapsed back down again.
She lay resting her head.
"Ellie what did I say about staying with me huh?"
I found a large wound on the inside of her leg,
I cut faster as she grew fainter.
She was fading away from me.
"Ellie come on" I cried.
"Your not leaving me, Ellie make some noise baby"
But I was left in silence.
