May 21st (the day this was originally posted) is National Waitstaff Day, so in honor of Emmie and the entire staff at Iola's Eats, I'm taking this opportunity to celebrate the completion of this story as well as YOU, dear readers! And if you are a waitress/waiter or have ever worked in this capacity, give yourself a round of applause! You're awesome!

  Thank you for joining me for our little shindig. So, a few things, and then we'll eat.   

1. If you've ever worked in any service industry, you learn quickly that people are... interesting. I worked as a waitress for three years. It was a breakfast and lunch place, somewhat like Iola's Eats. One couple--regular customers, would bring in their own toaster EVERY time they came in to eat so that the toast was toasted EXACTLY how they wanted it. It takes all types... Do you have any funny work related stories to share?

2. I am preparing this story for querying, which means I'm editing it and getting it ready to pitch to literary agents and publishers. If there are any improvements you think I could make to it, please let me know! I want the story to be as strong as possible. What did you like, what didn't you like, etc...

2. I'm getting a lot of calls for a sequel and some of you have excellent ideas for what it should be based on. While there is no sequel immediately in the works. I'm not totally opposed to the idea of a story that would take place a few years after this one leaves off. However, I have other projects to work on before this can happen. Again, I'd love your thoughts on this. 

3. I will definitely do some bonus chapters. I have some ideas already for this, but if you have any thoughts on what you'd want those chapters to be about, let me know!

I've got more to say, but I'm getting hungry. If we can just get the pizza away from DJ Kitty, we can eat!

While you eat... are you looking for another story on my profile? You may note that I don't have any other stories categorized as  romance (there is a short story, however, called ALL OUT OF SUGAR that is contemporary romance). It's true that I write more on the speculative side (paranormal, fantasy, etc.). HOWEVER, just about all of my stories, no matter what genre , have a strong romantic component. I just can't seem to stay away from love! So, do think about giving another of my works a try!

Really? Well then...

Did you know that one of Emmie's favorite books is Margaret Atwood's THE HANDMAID'S TALE? It is! So, I just had to enter the newest contest, sponsored by hulu, which asks writers to create a story inspired by Atwood's story. If you have a couple of minutes, that's all it will take as the entries are only 500 words a piece. They are on my profile and are called ZOEY, WILLOW, CLOVER HONEY (will help if you've read or watched The Handmaid's Tale) and VIGIL (no need to have read or watched it).

I'm also in the middle of writing a new story I'm really excited about. It's called YOU IN REAL LIFE and is a YA contemporary fantasy romance about a girl and ghost who doesn't remember where he's from or who he is. When she begins investigating, she finds out he's not a ghost from the past at all. But where he's from and who he really is... well... I'm not going to give that away! I'm really in love with this story! It's not ready for prime time yet, but I'll let you know when it is!

Zombie lovers, I'll have a short piece later this year in a Wattpad anthology. It's going to be gross and glorious and you should probably not think about it while you're enjoying your shake. Short story lovers, I have some short pieces I've been sitting on for a while that I may release into the Wattpadverse this summer/fall. I have sequels to other stories I should probably focus on as well...
