SOFIE POV

As early as ten in the morning, we reached my house. Sumakay kami ng boat kaninang alas sais at nagbyahe sa kotse nya pamanila.

I heard him released a deep sigh ng itigil nya sa harapan ng bahay namin ang kotse nya.

"No Red! I can do it myself. You cant..." Takot na sabi ko pero umiling lang si Red at bumaba na ng kotse. Kabadong agad din akong bumaba at sinundan si Red. Huminto si Red at humarap sya sa akin. He suddenly embraced me as he whisper in my ears.

"Sofie, I love you. Please take care of our baby. You know when we are at the slum area I thought of asking you to marry me. But I cant fully deceived you like that. Now that I know you love me too I will fight for us. Please wait for me, we'll be together soon. I promise you I will do everything for that to happen one day. I only want you to always remember that I love you baby."

Tulala ako hanggang sa pakawalan nya ako at muling naglakad papunta sa front door ng bahay.

"Red wait... You cant go in there!" Natatarantang pigil ko kay Red pero derederetso lang sya at kumatok sa pinto. Nasa tabi na nya ako at pigil ko sya sa braso ng bumukas ang pinto at nabungaran namin si mommy. Mom has this worried expression and when saw me, she's so relieved and envelop me in an embrace and she gave her deadliest stare to Red.

"Mrs. Andrada, good morning. May I have a minute of your time to explain Sofie's disappearance last night?" I saw my mother stiffened and her eyes sharpen on Red. She moved me at her back as if protecting me.

"Mom, its not Red's fault. He was not..." Pagtatanggol ko kay Red kay mommy dahil ramdam ko ang galit sa mata ni mommy para kay Red pero pintulol yon ni Red.

"Baby, let me explain to them everything." Malambing na sabi ni Red sa akin na ikinatahimik ko.

"Go to your room Sofie." Rinig kong matigas na utos ni Daddy. Nasa likod ko na pala sya at masama din ang tingin kay Red. Tumingin ako kay Red at may pilit na ngiti sya sa labi na tumango sa akin.

"Go baby, I'll be fine. Dont worry I'll tell them everything." He weakly smile at me again. Wala na akong nagawa kundi iwan sya doon kasama si mommy at daddy. Kabado man sa pwedeng mangyari pero alam kong gagawin ni Red ang makabubuti sa amin. This is not just about us. We have to consider who our parents are. We have to consider their past because it defines our future. We have to be cautious and be considerate enough.

I was nervously pacing back and forth when finally someone knock and enter my room. It was mom as she gave me a reassuring smile.

"Nasaan si Red mom?" Bungad ko agad na ikinabuntong hininga ni mommy.

"No dear! Please not the Trentons! Dont you remember what I told you about Claux?! He is dangerous and heartless. Tell me your lying sweety!" Gulat na gulat na bulalas ni mommy pero paninindigan ko na ito, para kay Red at para sa anak namin.

"I am sorry Mommy. I know Red made mistakes and he is sorry for what he has done to you...to us. Please give him a chance. I love him mommy." Pagmamakaawa ko kay mommy na ikinatigil lang nito. She let out a deep sigh and she looked disappointed and without another word walk out of my room.
