Bryce:

"We should throw a party tonight." Harry mentions.

"A party? Like a New Years Eve party?" I ask.

"Sure. We can have it here. My parents are on a ski trip and my sisters are with their friends having a sleepover. They won't be back until tomorrow evening." Harry informs.

"Yeah, a party sounds like a good idea." I agree.

"A party?" Avery says coming into the kitchen.

"A New Years Eve party to be exact." Harry corrects.

"Yes, let's totally throw a party!" Beth cheers.

"Then it's settled." Harry nods.

"Will people even come, it is kind of last minute." Avery points out.

"Of course they will. All we have to do is mention the word beer and they will be here." Harry shrugs.

"Sounds accurate. Text everyone you want to come." I suggest.

Harry, Avery and Beth start typing away on their phones and pretty soon we've got tons of people already accepting the invite.

"What about Kenzie? She's coming home today." Avery asks.

My head perks up at the mention of her name.

"Call her and see if she's home." Beth suggests.

Avery finds Kenzie's contact and quickly calls her. "Put it on speaker." Harry says. Avery nods, putting the phone on speaker.

After four rings we hear her voice, "Hey, Ave, what's up?" She says out of breath.

"Not too much. FYI, Harry, Bryce and Beth are here and you are on speaker." Avery tells her.

"Cool. Hi guys." Kenzie greets. We all say hi back. "So what's up? Yeah dad I know, ew no I don't want Starbucks. Wait I do want a slice of banana walnut cake. Sorry about that, Avery."

"No problem. Are you back in Denver yet?" Avery asks.

"No." Kenzie groans. "We are at the Miami airport, our flight got delayed. We will be here for at least two hours."

"So you could be here by no later than ten?" Harry asks hopeful.

"Uhh..yeah. Why?" Kenzie asks unsure.

"We are throwing a party tonight at my house. Will you be able to make it?" Says Harry.

Kenzie sighs, "Yeah maybe. Depends what time we get in."

"Kenz, you sound tired, maybe you should just stay home and get some sleep." I can't help but be concerned for her.

"That's sweet Bryce, but if we get in before midnight I will come by. No promises though." Kenzie yawns.

"Alright, have a safe flight home Kenz. Bye bye." Avery and Beth bid.

"Bye." Kenzie hangs up.

"Maybe we should decorate this place a little." Beth suggests.

"Good idea. Girls you get snacks, Bryce and I will get some awesome decorations. The party will start at nine. So we've got eight hours to set up." Harry orders.

As we were told, we all got decorations, food and alcohol. Thank God for fake IDs. The party would be starting shortly. None of us have yet to hear from Kenzie. No matter how high I got my hopes, I highly doubted that she was going to make an appearance tonight.

10:40pm. The party was in full swing for having only started over an hour ago. People were dancing, eating, drinking and socializing. Mostly talking about their Christmas breaks or how they were dreading going back to school on Tuesday.
