Chapter 36: Single Pringle

Start from the beginning

"Easy man, I think my brain is filled with gray matter rather than rubish," the familiar voice from the other end of the phone gushes. I check the caller ID again.
"Oh shit! I am sorry," I apologise for my out burst.

"You should be, anyway meet me in the parking lot in three minutes" she orders.
"Three minutes? Very precise"
"Yeah you lost your one minute there, now left with two"
"Blake. Have patience I am coming"

"Please leave me, please," I begged for the hundredth time.
"No! Not even Jesus can save you from me" she stubbornly replied. Blake dragged me into another huge boutique. This is the fifth boutique of the day. I wince as the spicy and sharp aroma of dresses fill my nostrils.

"You are helping me choose my prom dress" she orders.
"Are you mad? How can I help you with that? take your friends help, but please free me, I am freaking tired" I begged again.
"Please, you are the only one free and yes you are helping me pay for the dress." "What? No way, you know about my crisis. Cruz will be over happy to help you, ask him."

"Why would he pay? You are my brother its your duty to help your little sister, I don't even have much funds to buy a good dress, and its already the fifth one. I hope we get something better here." She makes a puppy face.
"Alright, I will pay only fifteen percent" I say. "No, fifty" she objects.
"Ten," I warn. "Okay twenty five."
"Done." I nod.

"By the way, did Cruz ask you for prom?" I scoffed
"Uh! No, actually Ryan asked but I turned him down. I think I am going to be all alone," she sighs. "Trust me darling you won't." I smirk.
"Don't act corny." She chuckles.

"Yes kids, what do you want?" A lady come's to attend us.
"Actually we are looking for prom dresses." Blake replies.
"Would you like to see some latest dresses?" The lady asks.

How stupid? We are not here to see refrigerators or air conditioners. Of course we want to see dresses, that is what we are here for.

"This is our new collection" the lady show us some colourful dresses.
"How is this?" Blake asks picking up a glittered blue lace gown.
"Uh? It's good, buy it" I say. I am the least interested person here, I don't even know what I am doing here? Do I look like a walking ATM?

"Nah! Its too glittery" Blake dejects the gown. She points down at another green gown with belt and then looks at me. I nod. She shakes her head again disapproving the dress.

Suddenly my eyes land on a sleeveless white gown, with diamond work on it.
"Try this," I say handing her the dress.
"Yeah! This looks good" she nods scrutinizing the dress.

"Where can I try this dress?" Blake asks the lady. The lady looks at the dress and then comments,"this dress is perfect."

She points towards the try room. After waiting for five minutes Blake finally unlocks the try room door.

My jaw meets the floor as I look at her and the long white gown, finally reviving from the shock I comment. "You look hideous, like a crazy bride." My face turns purple trying not to laugh. Her face fixed in a permanent frown.

"Ugh! You are not helping me."
"I think You need someone else who could help you better, maybe Emma or Mamma"

"Emma can't take out time, she is too busy in her own world. And you know mum don't even have a single second to waste."
"What about Abigail?" I ask.
"Do you think she can help?"

"Of course I do think. By the way thanks for wasting my entire day, lets get out of here now." I say.
"Yeah, its already getting dark." With that we finally get out of the fifth boutique.
