dan's pov

dan howell: i'm outside your house
phil lester: k be there in a sec

i stood on phil's doorstep, tapping my foot impatiently. it wasn't out of annoyance, it was more because of my anxiety. i was nervous, very nervous. phil and i partners are for a group project, one that makes up a large portion of our grade, and it's due tomorrow morning.

we should have started it when it was assigned a week ago, but i was too scared to invite him over and he didn't contact me either. a few hours ago however, he texted me to come over. which is why right now, i'm standing on his doorstep.

the door swung open suddenly and i jumped slightly at the unexpected noise. i turned to look at him and my eyes fixated on his gorgeous body. i admired the way his flannel shirt hugged his frame tightly and his hair was messily sprawled across his forehead.

"dan? are you coming to come in or?" his voice trailed off questioningly and my eyes snapped up to meet his.

he moved out of the doorframe and led me inside. "my mum and dad are on a trip this week so i'm alone," he smiled. "don't tell anyone you're here, i don't want them to find out."

i wasn't sure if he was actually concerned about his parents finding out, or if he was concerned about his reputation. what would people say if they found out that the hot nerd was hanging out with the emo loser?

we walked upstairs and he led me to the first door on the left. "this is my bedroom," he explained as we walked through the doorway.

his room was pretty organised. his green and blue patterned duvet was arranged neatly on the bed, and his beige carpet was spotless. he sat down at the desk nearby and gestured for me to take a seat on the bed.

i sat carefully, trying not to ruin everything. i'm pretty good at making lots of mess, but i didn't want to ruin the cleanliness of his bedroom. he turned to the desk and turned on his laptop. my eyes wandered down to his chiselled legs. long and thin, with thicker thighs. i wondered if the skin there was as soft as the rest of him looked.

i bet his skin was ghostly pale there. more so than the rest of his body. i couldn't be sure though, he's always wearing skinny jeans, including right now.

maybe he wears them to cover up the paleness? but if he's concerned about that, he must realise that they won't change unless he exposes them to sun. then again, i'm probably just overthinking it. maybe he just prefers wearing the tight jeans? and judging by the way it hugs his ass, i'm definitely not complaining.

"dan?" i perked up at the sound of my name. "are you okay? i've been saying your name for like two minutes."

i blushed, realising that he caught me staring. "sorry, i was just um. brainstorming for the project?" it came out like a question, though i didn't mean for it to.

"okay so what ideas do you have? we have to create an original product to present, right?"

i nodded. the assignment was simple but i could barely focus. it's the teachers fault for pairing me with my longtime crush. then again, who doesn't have a crush on phil lester? have you seen those eyes? they're such an exquisite shade of blue, like a rain-filled pond with small, swirly pools of yellow sunlight seeping in.

"anyway, i think we should make a poster. i have plenty of poster-board and art supplies."

i nodded in agreement. a poster would be easy, although that's the only part of his statement i actually heard, so i have no idea what his other ideas were. i ignore that fact and train my eyes on the clock on the bedside table. the numbers are covered so you can't see the time, but the speakers are visible enough that you can still hear the alarm.
