He had a way
To make someone
Stay.
Spacewalker and I
Had been talking
For about
An hour -
Pointless chatter
Full of laughs
And some
Banter.
Pearce came later,
And narrowed her eyes
At the sight of him.
Although she was all for
The alliance
Between us
And the Sky People,
She was still weary
Since the conference between
Anya and Clarke
Had not gone down yet.
Spacewalker offered a smile.
"Finn Collins."
He introduced himself.
Pearce shot him a look.
"Stay away from me."
She said finally,
And stalked off,
Knife in hand.
Spacewalker watched her
Leave,
And I apologized.
"She's a bit
On edge "
I told him,
Setting my bow down
And taking a seat
By the river.
"Who wouldn't be?"
Spacewalker asked,
Sitting next to me.
The sun was setting;
It would almost be time
For me to go
Back.
I'd caught
A rabbit,
Two squirrels,
And a chipmunk.
I couldn't tell Anya
That I'd been out with
Spacewalker all day.
Pearce said she'd cover for me,
Reluctantly.
We stayed quiet for a few seconds,
Watching the sun
Go down,
Slowly
But surely.
I felt him looking at me,
And met his gaze.
"You're not so bad
For a Sky Person."
I told him.
Spacewalker grinned.
"And you're not so bad
For a Grounder."
I got up,
And picked up my bow.
"I have to go. Stiles and Terri
Will be wondering
Where I am."
Spacewalker looked up.
"Meet me here
Tomorrow
Morning."
He said.
And I couldn't refuse.
I caught up to Pearce,
And we stayed silent
On our way
Home.
It was funny;
I'd been desperate
To kill the Sky People
When they had arrived.
But now,
I wasn't so sure
If I could ever
Hurt
A specific one.
